‘This Is Us’: Milo Ventimiglia Describes First Scene Ever With Mandy Moore: ‘There I Am, Kissing Her Neck’

While Jack’s death shocked and saddened fans, many viewers are confident they’ll see the couple together again by the This Is Us Season 6 finale. Now, Ventimiglia is describing the first-ever scene he filmed with Moore — and it involved “kissing her neck.”

Jack Pearson actor Milo Ventimiglia talked about the first scene he ever shot with Mandy Moore ahead of the This Is Us Season 6 finale.
“The first time we ever met, ever met in life, was an audition chemistry read together where we were performing the opening scene,” Ventimiglia explained, according to Yahoo. The scene involves an “incredibly pregnant” Rebecca entering a room with Jack wearing a towel around his waist. “But we’re in our audition room and there I am kissing her neck and reciting these lines to a perfect stranger.”
After they both got the roles, Ventimiglia and Moore established a fantastic friendship. “I remember saying to her, ‘If you’re not happy, I’m not happy,'” the actor added. ” … I think it’s rare that two people in the trade of acting can give so much of themselves to these characters and these roles, but Mandy has given me 100%, 100% of the time, and I give her exactly the same.”

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia make the perfect Rebecca and Jack Pearson. And it all started with a chemistry read between the actors. “I think I was the first group or wave that auditioned for [this role] because I auditioned and then I didn’t hear anything for a month,” she told Glamour. ” … Then, they later called me in to do a chemistry read, and they had three guys and three girls. I remember hearing that the producers really liked Milo and wanted him to be the guy. … So, when I went in to read, he was the only guy I went in and read with. You had to read with the other girls.”
Moore said her read with Ventimiglia was “lovely and easy” even with the “weird” situation of the chemistry read.
“It’s weird to have to jump into being married with somebody, but it was really easy,” she added. “It was just right on the surface, and we didn’t have to dig too deep [to find that admiration for each other].”
Is Jack in the ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 finale?
Will fans see Jack Pearson in the This Is Us Season 6 finale? Both Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia have given clues to suggest fans will see both Rebecca and Jack together by the series’ end.
“I’m hoping that I’m not in that scene, but I will be there,” Moore told Access Hollywood regarding the finale. “I think we’re all going to be there for the very end.”
People reports Ventimiglia also showed his Instagram followers what it was like on the set for the final days of filming. “So, today being the last day, maybe we’ll take you around,” he said on his Instagram Stories. After posting multiple stories of the crew, he told fans he hopes they “all enjoyed it.”
“See you all for the next one,” he said, teary-eyed.
