‘This Is Us’ Season 6: Alexandra Breckenridge Talks Sophie’s Husband: ‘Maybe Something Happened’
NBC’s This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14 is almost here, and fans can’t wait to find out who Kevin had in his hotel room the night before Kate’s wedding. Sophie and Kevin have a serious history, as they married young and divorced after Kevin cheated. Now, they reconnect in episode 14. And Sophie actor Alexandra Breckenridge finally opened up about Sophie’s husband, Grant.
‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 14 features Sophie and Kevin reconnecting
This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14 has plenty of questions to answer after the events in episode 13. Episode 13, “Day of the Wedding,” left clues that suggested Kevin spent the night before the wedding with a mystery woman in his room. Now, episode 14, “The Night Before the Wedding,” will focus on everything Kevin was up to before Kate’s big day.
Many fans suspect the episode will focus primarily on Sophie and Kevin. The This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14 promo shows the two reconnect. It opens with the two of them walking alone together outside.
“Failing at dating is sort of a pattern these days,” Kevin tells Sophie in the promo. “I think I’m just done with love.”
The promo skips around to Kevin also seemingly having romantic connections with the wedding singer, Arielle, as well as Cassidy. But it circles back to him spending time with Sophie.
“You’re probably exhausted,” Kevin tells Sophie while they’re in a convenience store together. “We should probably get back, right?”
“No, I think I just got a second wind,” Sophie responds.

While some fans love the idea of Sophie and Kevin giving their romance another shot in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, others are wondering about Sophie’s husband, Grant. Sophie’s allegedly married, though her husband didn’t appear to attend Kate’s wedding.
“I think they’ve been teasing that it’s a possibility that something happened between the two,” Sophie actor Alexandra Breckenridge told E! News. “Who knows? Maybe his schedule didn’t allow for him to be there, you know? It could be just so simple. We don’t know yet! Maybe something happened between the two of them, or maybe he just couldn’t make it out.”
Show writer Jon Dorsey also told Entertainment Weekly that fans will get answers regarding Sophie and Grant. “I’ll say this,” Dorsey said. “If you don’t get it in the next episode, you’ll certainly get it by the end of this season.”
Who does Kevin end up with in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6?
Will Kevin and Sophie end up together after all is said and done? We feel This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14 will reveal who Kevin ends up with in the end, but there are still several episodes of the season left that may reveal more about Kevin’s future wife.
Alexandra Breckenridge didn’t spoil anything to E! News. But she teased the “emotionally loaded” moments between Sophie and Kevin in episode 14.
“They have a lot of history, obviously, so I think it’s gonna be emotionally loaded for both of them on some level,” she shared. “It can’t not be. The two of them are like magnets together. I think when they’re around each other, they can’t help but feel something. Whether that ends up with them coming together or not, it’s gonna be emotionally loaded.”
This Is Us Season 6 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
