‘This Is Us’ Season 6: Chrissy Metz Posts TikTok of Kate’s Wedding, and Justin Hartley Doesn’t Participate
NBC’s This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13, “Day of the Wedding,” focused on everything that happened on Kate’s wedding day to Phillip. From Kevin’s mystery romantic tryst to Rebecca’s declining mental health, the episode showcased the ins and outs of the Pearsons’ lives at that time. And Kate actor Chrissy Metz posted a funny TikTok from Kate’s wedding — though it seems Kevin actor Justin Hartley didn’t want to partake.

Who did Kate marry in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 13?
This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13 featured Kate marrying her boss, Phillip. Prior episodes showed the decline of Kate and Toby’s marriage and their eventual divorce. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t grow together through life. Ultimately, Kate and Phillip ended up becoming a much better pairing. Their wedding was full of joy, with plenty of moments of deep sadness and humor.
“The previous episode is pretty much dedicated to Kate and Phillip’s story,” executive story editor Jon Dorsey told Entertainment Weekly. “So, we get a little bit of that. And like you said, we’ve already done the Kate wedding. So, we didn’t want to live in the ceremony too much. We wanted to see, ‘What are some cool stories that can tell around that with these characters that we haven’t seen before? You could tell that when we actually get to the formal ceremony, we’re moving through it pretty fast. Been there, done that.”

Kate’s wedding in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13 largely centered on Kevin and the mystery woman he seemed to sleep with the night before the wedding. Additionally, Rebecca had plenty of screentime. She sang and played the piano for Kate, and while the family was worried about Rebecca’s performance due to her Alzheimer’s she performed without a hitch. This didn’t leave a dry eye in the room.
After the episode aired, Kate actor Chrissy Metz posted a funny TikTok from the set. The TikTok shows Kate in her wedding dress dancing in sync with Miguel, Randall, Phillip, and the rest of the wedding party. They’re laughing, smiling, and having a great time putting together the video. “We wobblin’,” Metz captioned the video.
As for Kevin (played by Justin Hartley), he’s sitting on a couch in front of the dancing cast. He acts as if he doesn’t know of the dance party behind him, even calling someone on his phone and pretending to speak to them. Some fans think he wasn’t into the TikTok at all.
“I think it is him pretending not to know,” a Reddit fan wrote. “I think he sat this one out because I remember another group TikTok they did where he was very stiffly white-guy dancing in the background.”
Another fan suspects Hartley’s staying in character. “I haven’t seen the episode yet (about to right now), but to me, it feels like he’s calling/talking or thinking about calling Sophie,” another Reddit user wrote. “Everyone else is having fun and there he is, miserable, still thinking about Sophie, and not having fun because of it.”
Chrissy Metz said the wedding was lighthearted compared to what’s to come
Given Chrissy Metz’s TikTok, it seems the cast had a blast filming This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13. Metz also noted the episode has a lighthearted feel compared to the remaining episodes of season 6.
“There are some really great moments on the dance floor and there’s lightness throughout that,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “But you’re absolutely right. Some light before the really hard stuff starts.”
As for This Is Us Season 6 Episode 14, Kevin’s back in the spotlight due to his mystery romance. The promo for the upcoming episode shows he might spark a romance with the wedding singer, Arielle — or he may go back to Sophie, his ex-wife. Only time will tell what Kevin will do.
