‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 13 Preview: Will Kevin Reconnect With Sophie at the Wedding?
After the transformative 100th episode, This Is Us Season 6 jumps ahead five years into the future to the day of Kate and Phillip’s wedding. With Kate and Toby’s relationship resolved, fans can look forward to happier days for the Pearson woman. However, Rebecca’s health is declining fast, and there’s still the matter of Kevin’s love life to tend to. And given the Pearson’s track record for weddings, This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13 will be a wild ride.
Kate and Phillip’s wedding day arrives in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 13
The synopsis for This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13 reads, “The Pearsons gather for Kate’s wedding.” As always, This Is Us‘s episodic premises are extremely specific.
Fans got their first tease of Kate and Phillip’s wedding during the This Is Us Season 5 finale, and now the audience gets to see exactly what happens that day. The previous episode also showed a snippet from the wedding when Toby called Kate to tell her that he finally understood that their story wasn’t over just because they separated.
But back to Kate and Phillip, the preview for This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13 shows the happy couple preparing to walk down the aisle. Dressed as a bride and groom, they tell one another, “Here we go.”
Elsewhere in the promo, Madison and Beth discover that Kevin is “having a secret wedding weekend romance.” Beth questions, “Who do you think he slept with last night?”
And on a somber note, Rebecca forgets that Jack is dead in episode 13. She says, “I just can’t wait for your father to get here.” Randall reminds her, “Dad hasn’t been with us for a while, remember?” And Rebecca is visibly upset. Her Alzheimer’s is getting worse, and Miguel struggles with that reality. Miguel tells Randall, “It is moving fast now.” And when Randall questions him, Miguel emotionally yells, “All of it! All of it.”
Sophie returned in episode 12
Of course, fans are dying to know who Kevin hooks up with at Kate and Phillip’s wedding in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13. And there’s reason to believe that he might reconnect with his ex-wife, Sophie.
Alexandra Breckenridge briefly reprised her role as Sophie in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 12. Sophie and Kate rekindled their friendship, and Kate invited her to her and Phillip’s engagement party. Sophie also brought her husband to the affair, which may impede a possible Kevin and Sophie reunion. However, Kevin looked longingly at her at the party, and they even chatted for a bit, which the audience didn’t get to see.
There’s no doubt that Sophie will attend the wedding in This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13. However, fans will have to wait and see if she is still with her husband or if she is the one who Kevin spends the night with. Whatever the case may be, Kevin and Sophie’s story is likely far from over.
Chrissy Metz teases ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 13
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chrissy Metz previewed This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13.
“It’s so beautiful in the way that it’s shot, and there’s a lot of fun, but there’s a lot of stuff going on within the episode,” the actor shared. “A lot to do with what Kevin’s going through. There’s this calm about Kate and about Phillip and the whole ceremony that I feel like it’s come through the maturity of who they are as people. Then there’s the decline of Rebecca, which is really difficult, but the way she shows up for Kate, it’s very touching.”
Metz also confirmed that Sophie would be in attendance for the wedding. She said, “I mean, they’ve been trying to rekindle their friendship, and yes, she will be there. It’s just we don’t know who she is going to be there with.” So perhaps there is hope for Kevin and Sophie.
This Is Us Season 6 Episode 13, “Day of the Wedding,” airs Tuesday, April 19, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
