This Is Us Season 6 has already taken fans on an emotional roller coaster. Toward the end of the season, fans saw Kevin and Sophie get back together during Kate and Phillip’s wedding. And Rebecca’s health continues to decline since her Alzheimer’s diagnosis a few seasons back. Now, fans are anticipating more death is to come as the final episodes of the series draw near.

“I think Dan [Fogelman] said in the TIU Entertainment Weekly spread that we have three upcoming deaths,” a Reddit user posted. “Have a pretty good guess about the first two, but who could the third one be?”

Many fans suspect Jack’s mother was the first death. “Was Jack’s mom considered one of the deaths?” another Reddit user noted. “I thought I heard there would be three deaths total this season.”

“Maybe [Fogelman] meant three this season, and was counting Jack’s mom?” another Reddit user suggested.

If Jack’s mother was one of the deaths, who are the other two? Many fans predict Rebecca and Miguel also will die before the season ends.

“Miguel is almost certainly dying next week,” another Reddit user noted. “We already know Rebecca will die.”

It seems certain Rebecca will die by the end of This Is Us Season 6. Rebecca’s health has been in severe decline for several seasons. Sophie actor Alexandra Breckenridge also noted there’s a “looming death bed” that the Pearsons will have to deal with.

“But as we close in on the end of the show, and we have this looming deathbed that’s been teased over the last few seasons in the future, Sophie’s going to be a great sense of support and stability for Kevin,” she told People.

Mandy Moore also gave a clue that something severe happens to her character. Series creator Dan Fogelman told the 2022 PaleyFest in Los Angeles that Moore threw up after reading the script for the penultimate episodes, according to NBC Insider.

“It was beautiful [throw-up],” she added. “It was so beautiful and upsetting that that was my physical reaction.”

It seems certain fans will see Rebecca’s death by the This Is Us Season 6 finale. But what about Miguel? He had blood pressure medication at Kate and Phillip’s wedding, and episode 15 centers on Miguel’s past. This could foreshadow his death.

Additionally, TV Insider notes a flash-forward sequence in season 6 episode 2, “One Giant Leap,” shows Rebecca on her death bed — but Miguel isn’t there. The flash-forward shows several of the Pearsons gathered together, with the exception of a few people. Miguel’s absence worried fans, as it’s unexplained — and it could point to his death. We’ll have to wait and see what the final episodes hold.
