‘This Is Us’ Season 6: Justin Hartley Predicted What’s Next for the Pearsons
The story of the Pearson family will come to an end after This Is Us Season 6, which makes fans wonder what the future has in store for their favorite characters. Thankfully, Justin Hartley, who plays Kevin Pearson in This Is Us, teased what the final season might look like for the Pearsons.
Justin Hartley teases where his character will be when ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 premieres
During an interview with TV Insider, This Is Us star Justin Hartley discussed his endeavor to build Jack’s dream home for Rebecca. When asked if Kevin will relocate to Pennsylvania, where we know the house is in the future, Hartley was a bit vague.
“I don’t know. That’s a good question. I don’t know the answer to that,” Hartley said. “I don’t know if he’s going to be hands-on with a hammer and a nail or if he’s going to be funding it from afar.”
The This Is Us Season 6 premiere photos show Kevin walking through a studio lot, presumably in Los Angeles. So, perhaps he is still figuring out where he wants to end up when the final season begins. But we do know that somehow, someway, Kevin will set out to build Jack’s dream house in season 6. And somewhere down the line, he will move to Pennsylvania to care for his mother and continue his construction business.
Justin Hartley can try to be as secretive as he possibly can be, but at least we know some truths about This Is Us Season 6.
Justin Hartley reveals how Kevin will help Rebecca and Nicky in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6
With building Jack’s dream home for Rebecca, we know that Kevin will have a lot on his plate in the upcoming episodes. But, according to Justin Hartley, he will also help Rebecca as she continues to struggle with Alzheimer’s in This Is Us Season 6.
TV Insider asked Hartley if the Big Three would help Rebecca remember Jack. He stated, “I think so. I also think that it’s sad that people pass away, and life does have to go on. It doesn’t end. You hear people talking like that all the time. What if I forget the way she smelled, or what if I forget the way they looked at me? It’s just heartbreaking stuff.”
Hartley continued, “But you go years and years, and I guess that inevitably happens. But yeah, I think that between Kevin agreeing to build the house for her and the new kids being brought into the family. Seeing Kevin as a father, I think that’ll fill some of those voids hopefully.”
Justin Hartley also imagined that Kevin would be there for Uncle Nicky in his journey to find his wife in This Is Us Season 6. Hartley said, “I think he can, he’s sort of the voice of reason for Nicky. I think Nicky really trusts him, and oddly enough, vice versa. I think they found a really cool connection.”
Hartley added, “I think it’s something that Nicky needs and wasn’t quite ready for emotionally. And he’s opened up and sort of become himself. Yeah, I would love for that to be one of the things [Kevin] does next year, sort of help him find his bride.”
The final episodes of ‘This Is Us’ premiere in early 2022
The This Is Us final season will begin with an episode titled “The Challenger,” which is a callback to something that Justin Hartley’s character said in the series premiere. Kevin kept on referencing the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster during the episode. There is no way that those two things aren’t connected, suggesting that Kevin plays a big part in the season premiere. And just from the title of the episode, we predict that many tears will be shed.
However, by the time the series comes to a close, Hartley predicts that the Pearsons will end up happy. He revealed, “I mean, from what I gather from what we’ve shot, it seems they’re in a really good place. They all seem to be dancing around like happy idiots. Hopefully, they’re all in a really good place. They’ll have drama getting there, I’m sure.”
