‘This Is Us’ Season 6: Milo Ventimiglia Hints Fans Don’t Know Jack’s ‘True’ Ending
It seems like This Is Us fans are always learning something new about Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia). But with the sixth season being the show’s last, it wouldn’t be surprising if the NBC series focused on the futures of other characters. That said, Ventimiglia recently teased that the final episodes of This Is Us Season 6 will reveal Jack’s true ending. Here’s what the actor said.
Milo Ventimiglia on Jack’s ending in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6
After Jack’s death and the introduction of Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne) on This Is Us, the Pearson patriarch slipped into the background. Occasionally, the NBC series would dive into Jack’s story if it was tied to the present. But he hasn’t been the focus in some time.
Meanwhile, This Is Us Season 6 dropped more details about Jack and his relationship with his mom, Marilyn (Laura Niemi). And following “Don’t Let Me Keep You” on Jan. 25, Ventimiglia confirmed that it will be the last Jack-centric episode. However, the actor teased that This Is Us will finally see “where the true Jack’s end is” by the series finale.
“I think Jack is just consistently there no matter what,” Ventimiglia told Variety when asked how Jack will be incorporated into the final episodes. “He’s there in the kids’ behavior, he’s there in the kids’ actions, whether they’re talking about him or not.”
The This Is Us star continued, “There may not be much we’re going to learn about Jack, but I think the thing to know is that he’s always there. And going toward the end, we saw Jack’s end, we’ll get to understand where the true Jack’s end is when we get there in April.”
How Milo Ventimiglia feels about the end of ‘This Is Us’
For now, This Is Us fans will have to wait and see what Ventimiglia meant when he said Jack’s “true” end. But whatever happens next, it seems the actor believes viewers will be “satisfied” with the show’s ending overall.
“I think people are going to be satisfied with a full heart,” Ventimiglia said on The Today Show. “Understanding the journey of what these characters have been through, this family, everything, they’ve been through a lot. But I think what they’ve ultimately done, what they’ve ultimately accomplished, is showing other people that it’s possible.”
He continued, “Even if things are coming to an end, it doesn’t mean that you have to be despondent about it or upset about it. It’s something that is full. So I’m hoping that people are going to be very satisfied and feel like, ‘Wow, I saw this wonderful story with these wonderful characters that are just like me, and I’ve closed the book on it. And I can also flip it back over, open the book, and start it back up again.’”
