‘This Is Us’ Season 6: What’s Next for Jack Pearson? Milo Ventimiglia Teases His Character’s Final Episodes
Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) might’ve died in This Is Us Season 2, but the show has managed to keep the character around, even in its sixth and final season. But how will the beloved Pearson fit into the story as the NBC series nears its end? Following the Jack-centric episode in This Is Us Season 6, Ventimiglia revealed what’s next for Jack in the final episodes of the series.
What fans learned about Jack Pearson in ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 4
After This Is Us revealed how Jack died in season 2, the character slowly faded more into the background. But in season 6 episode 4, “Don’t Let Me Keep You,” the NBC series revealed major details about the character’s backstory.
In the This Is Us Season 6 episode, fans learned how Jack dealt with the death of his mother, Marilyn (Laura Niemi). Jack felt like he missed out on his mom’s life after helping her move away from his father, Stanley (Peter Onorati). But even so, he was able to move forward. Jack recognized that Marilyn found a home with Debby (Camryn Manheim), Mike (Jim Cody Williams), and her friends in Ohio, just like what he had done with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and the kids.
Milo Ventimiglia shares what’s next for Jack in the final episodes of ‘This Is Us’ Season 6
For now, it seems like This Is Us Season 6 Episode 4 will be the last Jack-centric episode of the series. When speaking with People, Ventimiglia suggested that there isn’t much more fans will learn about the beloved Pearson patriarch. He said:
“It was nice to explore something that I really hadn’t with Jack, knowing that we’d been through a lot of his life. To find out how he dealt with the loss of his mom, find out how he could move forward through that. And within that, I think it was just an important piece to — I don’t want to say wrap up Jack — but I don’t know if there’s much more we’re gonna learn about Jack.”
That said, the This Is Us star hinted that Jack will still be around because of his impact on the lives of Rebecca, Kate (Chrissy Metz), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Randall (Sterling K. Brown).
“I think at this point he’s still just gonna serve as a memory and as this foundation for his kids,” Ventimiglia said of Jack. “Everything’s just starting to, kind of like, fade away. So I understand you want to have more. I don’t know that we’re gonna get it, but Jack is always there. He’s always gonna be there.”
While it seems like This Is Us Season 6 has closed the chapter on major Jack storylines moving forward, many fans will be happy to hear that the character will still be around until the end of the series. Meanwhile, there are still plenty of unanswered questions about the future. So get ready. This one’s going to be an extraordinary journey.
