This Is Us is back with new episodes. Typical for the award-winning series, the This Is Us Season 4 finale provided some answers but also led to even more questions about the Pearson family’s past, present, and future. Here are four questions about This Is Us heading into season 5.

1. What happens after Randall and Kevin’s fight in the ‘This Is Us’ Season 4 finale?

This Is Us Season 4 ended with an argument of epic proportions between Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kevin (Justin Hartley). What started out as a disagreement about their mom’s care quickly became a screaming match.

Randall told Kevin their father, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), died thinking he was a disappointment. Kevin fired back with an equally nasty comment about Randall’s adoption being worse for the family than Jack’s death.

Just before Randall came over Kevin learned he was going to be a father. Considering he and Randall’s argument could seriously alter their dynamic as brothers forever, there’s no telling what Kevin did when we went back inside to Madison (Caitlin Thompson).

With his feelings running high did he say things he didn’t mean to her? Did he commit to raising their twins together?

Meanwhile, what about Randall? Considering his history of anxiety does the argument with Kevin lead to an episode? Does it make his wife, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson), even more concerned about how he’s handling — or not handling — his anxiety.

2. Do Randall and Kevin reconcile in ‘This Is Us’ Season 5?

The obvious next question is whether or not the brothers reconcile. Their argument was unlike any dispute they’d ever had before.

They said some things their relationship may never recover from. Flash-forwards show them being in the same room together but there’s nothing to indicate they’re back to being on good terms with each other.

3. Is Madison Kevin’s fiancée?

Kevin told Kate (Chrissy Metz) he wanted to be on his way to getting married and having children by his 40th birthday, barely a year away. Turns out, Kevin seems to be making it happen.

When the Big Three get together to celebrate their birthday together there’s mention of Kevin’s fiancée. One might assume it’s Madison but then again there are twists and turns on This Is Us that encourage viewers to expect the unexpected.

So there’s no telling whether or not Madison is indeed Kevin’s fiancée. Hopefully, This Is Us Season 5 will clue viewers in. More than likely it will provide the answer along with more questions about Kevin’s love life.

4. What’s Nicky doing at Rebecca’s bedside in the future?

Another major development in the This Is Us Season 4 finale was Jack’s brother, Nicky (Griffin Dunne), sitting next to Rebecca, who appears to be on her death-bed.

Years after doctors diagnosed her with a mild cognitive impairment Miguel’s (Jon Huertas) nowhere to be seen and Nicky’s wearing a wedding ring. Is Nicky married to Rebecca or someone else? Viewers don’t know although there are fan theories about Nicky’s ring.
