‘This Is Us’: Susan Kelechi Watson Hinted the Final Season Is Going to Be ‘Emotional’
This Is Us Season 6, which is the final season of the beloved drama series is on its way. The show chronicles the lives of the Pearson family. This includes Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), along with their children, Kevin (Justin Hartley), Randall (Sterling K. Brown), and Kate (Chrissy Metz). This Is Us has taken fans on a rollercoaster for years.
As the show is set to come to a thunderous conclusion, actor Susan Kelechi Watson who portrays Randall’s college sweetheart and wife, Beth says that it’s going to be super emotional.
When will ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 premiere on NBC?
The final 18 episodes of This Is Us won’t air until 2022. Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, NBC has decided to air the final season of This Is Us midseason.
“By putting it at midseason, we’ll have the least interruptions possible,” Susan Rovner, NBC Universal Television’s Chairman of Entertainment said via Parade. “I think it’ll be a great event for the fans to enjoy this incredible show.”

Though we have some time before the final season premieres, Kelechi Watson has hinted that we need to pull our tissues out. The actor, who has been a vital part of the show from the beginning, says that the final season will be emotional.
“We just started the season, only shot one episode so far. I think that we all have this mentality of like, we’re just going to wait until that last episode to really let it sink in,” she told People on the Emmys 2021 red carpet. “And right now, we’re just like, ‘Let’s just enjoy it! Let’s just be here.’ You know what I mean?” I think that it’s going to be emotional.”
We are already aware, that we need to buckle up to get through Kate and Toby’s (Chris Sullivan) impending divorce.
How will the show end?
Though the cast already knows how things will end for This Is Us that hasn’t stopped the tears from flowing. In fact, they have been giving fans major hints about what’s to come. This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Dan Fogelman told Deadline that they are aiming for an “elegant” and “satisfying” ending.
Ventimiglia said that he was completely blown away by how we will get to say goodbye to the Pearsons. “I’ve got an idea of how I would want it to end, but I also know how it does end,” the actor told US Weekly. “My version is completely shadowed by how great of an ending [creator Dan] Fogelman has come up with.”
Fogelman has also promised to answer all of our questions and to tie up any loose ends. “I think by the time we’re in our sixth season, you’ll have a lot of the information about what’s happened to this family and what will be left is some resolution,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “I think when the show eventually comes to an end, I think in the best way, it’ll be very quiet and normal. That’s always been the plan, because at the end of the day, it’s a story about this kind of regular family.”
