‘This Is Us’: The Series Ending Fans Predict Comes So Full Circle It Will Break You
Fans are commenting that this week’s episode of Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Kate (Chrissy Metz) at the family cabin was one of the best.
There were a few more subtle hints around Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) health condition that fans are saying alludes to the ending of the series. Let’s take a look at how the conclusion will come full circle and leave viewers needing an entire box of tissues.

The flash-forward ending of ‘This Is Us’ had many fans in tears this week
Throughout the episode, the big three spent a weekend at the family’s cabin. We watch as the show spans the decades of visiting that same location. As ten-year-olds, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) encourages the children to choose something special for a time capsule. As teenagers, Rebecca and the boys save Kate from her abusive boyfriend.
In the present day, the three siblings bond after digging up the old time capsule. Not only do they find what they buried almost thirty years ago, but a tape of Jack and a sketch of plans for a future home. Listening to Jack’s voice, years after he died, is both heartbreaking and soothing.
Later on, we get another glimpse of the future. Kevin is holding the drawing of Jack and Rebecca’s dream home, and then it comes to life before us. It sits right above where the old family cabin is. Kevin had it built in the replica of Jack’s drawing. Then he walks in with the food he went to grab during the last flash-forward.
Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) greets Kevin and tells him that everyone is in with Rebecca — who we know is dying. The entire series begins to come full circle, and fans have a lot to say about it.
Kate and Toby’s son’s name — Jack — has a more profound significance to the show’s conclusion
“I think this entire series is going to end with Rebecca passing away, and the small hints of it are leading us towards the eventual ending,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
Many fans already thought that the series was going to end with Rebecca dying, so that part doesn’t come with as big of a shock as this next part.
“And then in the future, baby Jack and his wife are going to name their soon-to-be-born child Rebecca,” another Redditor adds.
Since Kate and Toby named their son after the father who died, Jack, it only seems perfect that the child then calls his future baby, Rebecca — after his grandmother.
“No question,” agrees another viewer. “Also, seeing her find Jack after she goes most likely.”
So, the series will conclude with Rebecca dying, Jack having a baby girl named Rebecca, and then Rebecca finally seeing her husband —Jack — again in Heaven. Fans are crying just thinking about it.
What happens to Jack’s brother — Uncle Nicky — in the future?
“I think Nicky might be living in the cabin now,” another fan writes on Reddit.
Other viewers agree that Nicky is nearby, and it seems perfect that he lives in the cabin right next to the family dream home.
“Exactly my thoughts as well,” agreed another Redditor. “He would very likely want his own space as he’s been living alone so long — but he would be just a short walk away from the larger house and could drop in anytime.”
We know that Nicky is also by Rebecca’s side when she is on her deathbed, so it makes sense that he lives next door. While we do not know for sure that this is how the show ends, it would bring everything full circle. This Is Us airs Tuesday nights at 9 pm ET on NBC.
