Unfortunately, This Is Us Season 6 will not air tonight, March 1, with a new episode on NBC. The show is taking a small break between episodes 6 and 7, and the seventh hour will premiere next week on March 8.
The series is taking the week off because President Joe Biden will be giving the State of the Union address starting at 9 p.m. ET on the primary network channels, including NBC, tonight. So fans will have to wait one more week to find out what goes down at the Pearsons’ next Thanksgiving.
What happened in the previous episode?
Since This Is Us isn’t new tonight, fans still have time to pick apart what happened in the previous episode. This Is Us Season 6 Episode 6 shined a spotlight on Beth and her dance studio.
Beth, responsible for picking scholarship students for the dance school, struggled with anxiety and fear. She wanted the first dance recital to go perfectly. Unfortunately, one of the dancers fell during the program. But Beth picked her back up and encouraged her to try again. As a result, Beth gained the courage to call her former dance teacher. She confronted him about how it hurt when he abandoned her following her father’s death.
Elsewhere in the episode, Kevin wasn’t happy that Madison didn’t want their twins to spend Thanksgiving at the cabin. But, following a heart-to-heart between him and Kate, he apologized to Madison.
And in the past, Kevin informed Kate that he cheated on Madison and made her promise not to tell her. Kate kept her word, but Kevin ended up telling his wife anyway. Madison was furious that Kate, her best friend at the time, didn’t tell her. In the present day, Kate texted Madison to apologize, making fans wonder if Madison would return in season 6.
Sparks continued to fly between Rebecca and Miguel as they prepared for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s evident that they are both jealous of the other’s new partners, so the next This Is Us episode is sure to be full of drama and heartbreak.

In the preview for the hour, Rebecca and Jack have her mother over for the holiday, awkwardness ensues during a dinner between Rebecca, Miguel, and the young adult Big Three, and Rebecca has something to tell her kids in the present day. Also, Kate questions Toby about his worries regarding Jack’s weight during the holiday dinner.
The synopsis for episode 7, “Taboo,” reads, “Rebecca has a big announcement to make at Thanksgiving dinner.” This description is likely referring to the present-day story.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, co-producer Eboni Freeman and star Susan Kelechi Watson teased what the audience can expect from This Is Us Season 6 Episode 7. Watson said, “Thanksgiving always brings drama.” And Freeman added, “Pearson Thanksgiving will be the mother of all episodes.”
