This is Why Supermodel Christie Brinkley Looks Half Her Age
Christie Brinkley is one of those celebrities who really makes you think she has found the fountain of youth. That’s not the case but the question remains: Just how does the supermodel stay looking so young?
Here are some of Brinkley’s beauty tips to answer that question and can help you maintain a youthful appearance as well.
How old is Brinkley?
Christie Brinkley was born Christie Lee Hudson in Monroe, Michigan, to parents Marjorie and Herbert Hudson on Feb. 2, 1954.
Even though the “Uptown Girl” is now deep into her 60s we can all agree that she still looks like she’s in her 30s. Not only is her face as gorgeous as it was decades ago but she has also managed to keep her body in such great shape (after three kids). Now, let’s find out how she does it.
Her tips for looking and feeling young
You’ve surely heard that getting eight hours of sleep every night is best, but Brinkley doesn’t go by that rule. She actually prefers to get six or seven hours of sleep a night and thinks sticking to a pattern of when you go to bed and get up is most important.
“I don’t want to sleep more than that because then I’ll be groggy,” the cover girl revealed. “When I’m consistent with that period of time sleeping, I feel that. If I sleep six hours from three in the morning to nine, that’s no good for me. If I go to sleep at midnight and wake up at 5:30 or 6:00 that’s fine–I’m good.”
When it comes to exercise even Brinkley admits that she had trouble finding the motivation for that sometimes so she decided to get her furry friends involved.
“If you can’t get motivated to exercise for your heart or fitness, do it for your four-legged ‘personal trainers,’” she told Women’s World. “My dogs and I feel best when we start out the day with a short run, and we especially love running on outdoor trails. It’s more interesting for the dogs and works more leg muscles than running on a treadmill.”
The supermodel is extremely mindful of what she puts into her body as well and maintains a healthy diet. In the mornings she likes to have a green smoothie with one cup of chopped kale, 1/4 avocado, the juice of one orange, the juice of half a lime, 1 cup of ice, and a half cup of coconut water.
“You just can’t underscore how important a healthy diet is to the way you look and the way you feel,” she said via Reader’s Digest.
One of her biggest tips is to protect your skin. Brinkley used to spend a lot of time sunbathing. As she got older she was hoping she could find a product that could undo all the years of sun damage. She could not and that’s when she created Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare. Those products are now a part of her daily beauty routine.
What treatments Brinkley has had done
All that said, Brinkley can’t stop Father Time altogether so she has had a few treatments that also improve her appearance a bit.
The lines between her brows were treated with Xeomin, which is a botulinum toxin similar to Botox. She’s also had her neck and décolletage lifted and tightened with Ultherapy, which is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that uses non-ionizing ultrasonic waves to heat tissue.
“I want all women who may feel like tweaking a little something to know that it’s OK to take advantage of the newer non-invasive treatments,” Brinkley said.
She added, “These innovations worked for me so I want to share what I’ve learned–why keep it a secret? If something is bugging you, see what science and technology offer you to feel great. I think today’s modern women should support one another’s choices to look and feel our best.”
