This Tweet Has ‘Jersey Shore’ Fans Thinking a Spinoff With the ‘Double Shot at Love’ Cast Is Happening
When Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi announced her exit from Jersey Shore, fans wondered how the show could ever be the same. Many people think showrunners might work cast members from Double Shot at Love into the series to keep fans entertained. Now, thanks to a tweet from Jersey Shore: Family Vacation producer SallyAnn Salsano, fans are convinced a Jersey Shore spinoff is happening.
‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ fans wouldn’t mind a spinoff
When MTV introduced Double Shot at Love, the show was designed to help Vinny Guadagnino and Pauly DelVecchio find love. It was formatted similar to Rock of Love, wherein Bret Michaels dated 20-some women. But with season 2, Double Shot at Love changed. The show became less about the Jersey Shore stars finding love and more about testing the waters with a new cast.
Instead of bringing in a new cast, six exes from season 1 returned to live and work in Las Vegas. Three men were also added to the cast in season 2. This addition, paired with the fact that they were all living together in a Las Vegas suite, gave fans Jersey Shore vibes.
Angelina Pivarnick and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino have appeared on Double Shot at Love season 1 and 2, furthering the show’s connection to Jersey Shore.
“It kind of feels like I’m watching a season of Jersey Shore, but in Vegas,” one fan said on Reddit. “I don’t mind the girls now that they’re not competing for [Pauly and Vinny], and it’s nice to see Nikki be a part of the group this time.”
‘Double Shot at Love’ star Antonio Locke mentioned producers working on a spinoff
Locke — better known as “Pool Party Papi” — spoke with A Tale of Two Sams Podcast in July 2020. During his interview, Locke said something that justified what many fans have been speculating.
“They’re trying to give us maybe like a Jersey Shore spinoff,” Locke said. “They want all new faces, which we appreciate and love because obviously, that’s the reason I got on [the show] — besides Derynn. When I see comments on pictures like ‘Jersey Shore 2.0,’ I’m like ‘That’s what we’re going for!'”
Now, it seems like a spinoff is in the works.
Will the ‘Double Shot at Love’ cast become part of ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’?
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has already started filming for season 4, as documented on the casts’ social media. Recently, the cast of Double Shot at Love documented themselves boarding planes. Fans assumed they were meeting up with the Jersey Shore cast to film Family Vacation because of a tweet from Salsano.
Salsano’s tweet contained a hint about where some of season 4 will take place — Las Vegas. According to a fan on Reddit, “the Double Shot at Love people are doing an appearance on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 4.”
The photos of the traveling Double Shot at Love cast have since been removed from social media. This only further convinced fans that they are filming with the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation roommates.
