The star of Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness, Joseph Maldonado-Passage (aka Joe Exotic), is serving a 22-year sentence for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill longtime nemesis, Carole Baskin. He filed a lawsuit to recoup funds he believes heā€™s owed and asked for a presidential pardon, but the outcome of either is yet to be seen. Meanwhile, his fourth husband, Dillon Passage, posted a throwback of the couple that has fans thinking Maldonado-Passage may be released from prison soon.

Netflixā€™s Tiger King has maintained public interest for a month now and for good reason. The headlines surrounding the cast are still surfacing ā€” particularly in regards to the ā€œTiger Kingā€ himself, Joseph Maldonado Passage, who, apparently is documenting his version of the truth in a new memoir.

Maldonado-Passageā€™s fourth husband, Dillon Passage, recently spoke with RADIO.COMā€™s Channel Q show, The Morning Beat, where he cleared up a few things about his life partner, including this book.

Passage explained that [Maldonado-Passage] sent out a lot of letters pertaining to the book about what heā€™d like to include in it. He explained that itā€™s not much about the jail experience or what led to it, but a deeper look at what shaped [Joe Exotic] into the man he is today.

ā€œItā€™s more about his life story from when he was a little kid to now,ā€ Passage said. ā€œOnce it comes out, youā€™re gonna see a different side of Joe. He has a lot of trauma that follows him since his childhood. A lot of physical, mental, sexual abuse and thatā€™s really going to change peopleā€™s perspectives about Joeā€™s personality.ā€

Passageā€™s cryptic Instagram message has fans thinking ā€˜Joe Exoticā€™ is leaving jail soon

While Maldonado-Passage writes that memoir and awaits news from his lawsuit, Passage is busy taking care of the former zookeeperā€™s social media accounts.

Passageā€™s recent Instagram post to Maldonado-Passageā€™s page is of the two during happier times and sparked a bit of debate among Tiger King fans.

ā€œA reminder of better days,ā€ he captioned the photos. Theyā€™re hand-in-hand in one frame with a shot of their wedding bands in the second frame.

While that alone doesnā€™t suggest anything regarding Maldonado-Passageā€™s sentence, itā€™s what Passage posted in the comments that got everyone riled up.

ā€œComing home soon,ā€ he said.

ā€œomg omg omg,ā€ one fan said. ā€œsoon as in 22 years or soon soon? please elaborate,ā€ another added. ā€œwhennnnn omg Iā€™m dying to know! He needs his own legit show asapppp,ā€ another fan said.

Most of the replies ask Passage for clarification as to exactly when the ā€œTiger Kingā€ will be a free man. And, if true, is it due to the help of a celebrity (like the Kardashians, whom he reached out to) or that presidential pardon request?

In the same interview, Passage revealed that Maldonado-Passage has met half of [Passageā€™s] family.

ā€œTheyā€™re very supportive of mine and Joeā€™s relationship and they wish us the best,ā€ he said.

He went on to explain that when Maldonado-Passage was first arrested they were ā€œleery.ā€ However, once Tiger King released, Passage said they believed his husband was ā€œset up.ā€

It remains to be seen if or when ā€œJoe Exoticā€ will be released from prison. In the meantime, fans can continue stalking those comment sections for Passageā€™s cryptic messages.
