Tim McGraw Once Admitted This Bad Habit From Touring Gets on Faith Hill’s Nerves
Everyone has a bad habit that gets on other people’s nerves. Celebrities are the same way and sometimes they reveal them. Tim McGraw admitted he doesn’t stop doing this one thing when he stops touring and it bugs his wife, Faith Hill.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill fell in love while touring
The singers met through work. They met at a gig in Nashville in 1994, according to Us Weekly. The couple later toured together and bonded over food.
“We were touring together,” McGraw said on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I didn’t know her that well and she lived right down the road from me.”
He continued, “I made some chicken and dumplings and I thought, you know, I’ll take some chicken and dumplings and some cornbread down to Faith Hill and see how that works.”
It did and they started dating. McGraw eventually proposed to her in an unexpected place.
He proposed in a dressing room
The couple’s proposal story is pretty romantic. The country singer told a Colorado audience about it, according to Brides.
“We were in the dressing room, here, June 26, 1996, and it was raining and stuff and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married,” he said. “And so I said… I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward [on my knees] onstage.”
He continued, “She had already done her show. And I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.'” It sounds like Hill didn’t believe him at first.
“She said, ‘We’re at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you’re asking me to marry you? And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So I went onstage,” he said. She left her answer for him on his dressing armoire.
The country singer later added, “When I came back offstage, [I saw] a Sharpie with lipstick kisses all over it, saying, ‘Yes! I’m gonna be your wife.’ It had, ‘I love you’ with big lipstick kisses.”
His bad habit is not cleaning
The singers are spending a lot of time together at home during quarantine. McGraw revealed to Entertainment Tonight how they’ve been spending their time together.
“Faith and I spend 90 percent of our time together,” he said. “We’re sort of homebodies. We don’t get out much and we always cook at home. We don’t eat out much.”
They seem to spend most of that time relaxing. “We’re always around the house, so we spend a lot of time together anyway,” he continued. “But this has been really good. We enjoy just cuddling up and watching movies, TV series.”
Sadly, it doesn’t sound like he does his share of a specific chore. “I spent 30 years in hotel rooms going in and out, so I’ve never even thought about cleaning up, but she’s a neat freak, so she likes everything pretty clean,” he admitted. “So I always get on her nerves about that.”
That’s a pretty normal problem for any couple. It sounds like tour has brought good and annoying things to their relationship.
