When did Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp begin dating?

Rumors about Chalamet and Depp’s budding romance began in 2018. What launched the speculation was a series of photographs revealing the two looking all cozy as they strolled through Central Park together.

As the months passed, more photos showed the couple hand in hand, while spending time in their favorite coffee shops and restaurants. And although both actors were keen on making their relationship a private affair, they could no longer keep things under wraps.

Depp and Chalamet also had the chance to work together on the Netflix film, The King (2019.) Regarding working with the Call Me By Your Name actor, Depp expressed how intimidating it could be. ‘It can be nerve-wracking to work with people whose talent you admire so much,” Depp admits to DailyMail, according to ELLE. “But hopefully it can only make things better…It can be intimidating.”

In September of 2019, photos were leaked all over the internet of Chalamet and Depp making out. The public made a mockery of the moment that was intended to be private.

“I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life,” he says in a recent interview with G.Q. “I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.'”

The Ladybird actor adds how disappointed he was that their relationship was being labeled as a P.R. stunt. “And then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob?” says Chalamet. “All pale? And then people are like: This is a P.R. stunt. A P.R. stunt?! Do you think I’d want to look like that in front of all of you?!

To give himself some time to breathe, Chalamet has been spending time in a secluded cabin in Woodstock away from the public eye. Not only is he preparing for his role as Bob Dylan in the highly anticipated biopic, but he is also taking time to regroup.

Chalamet has deleted his Instagram account and wants to take more time to enjoy the world around him. This includes reading more books, taking in the sunlight, and appreciating the “the crease in the cushion” again.

G.Q. reveals,

“In that cabin, he could sit on the couch for a while and re-familiarize himself with ‘the crease in the cushion’ that he’d lost touch with over the past few years. The quiet. The stillness. That sunlight there coming through the trees. He could breathe a little. Sleep a little. It had all been so good for him so far. But the goodness made him anxious. When will the other shoe drop? Not there.”

“He’d deleted Instagram off his phone. He’d stopped posting on Twitter. He was reading again. Listening to albums all the way through. Slowing down. What was it like to have lived these past two and a half years? It was like a lot of things, but here at the end of it, it just felt good to sleep.”
