TLC’s ‘I Love A Mama’s Boy’ Is Back for Season 4 With 4 New Families
Time to cut the apron strings? TLC’s reality series I Love a Mama’s Boy is back for season 4 starting September 16.
The new episodes – the first in two years – will follow five men who are “grappling with the competing affections of their coddling, spoon-feeding mothers.” Will their close bonds with their moms destroy their chance at romantic happiness and send their wives and girlfriends running for the hills?
Matt and Kelly return for ‘I Love a Mama’s Boy’ Season 4
One familiar pair will return for I Love a Mama’s Boy Season 4: Matt and Kelly.
Matt is currently single at age 33, but his overbearing mom (and roommate) Kelly is determined to find him a match. However, he’s starting to think his mom could be what’s standing between him and true love. Will he be able to loosen his ties with his mother and move out on his own? Probably not if he keeps doing things like introducing his mom to potential girlfriends too soon.
“I would not bring my mom on a first date,” a woman says in the preview for the new season (via Instagram). “Like, that’s kind of a dealbreaker for me.”
Four new families join ‘I Love a Mama’s Boy’ cast
Kelly and Matt will be joined by four new families in the new season of I Love a Mama’s Boy.
Nylah, Shahid, and Dia: Mom Dia and son Shahid have an exceptionally close relationship, as evidenced by their matching outfits, shared hobbies, and intertwined finances. He even calls her his “best friend.” But Shahid’s girlfriend Nylah is threatening their bond, and a suspicious Dia is questioning her intentions regarding her son’s finances.
“Nylah is manipulative,” Dia says. “She is taking advantage of Shahid.”
Janelle, Josh, and Tina: Josh has been married to Janelle for 12 years, but he’s never lived apart from his mom, Tina. However, that might be about to change. Josh and his wife have bought a new house in Florida, and there’s no room for Tina. Josh still wants to live with his mom, but will Janelle finally put her foot down when it comes to her mother-in-law?
“You’re putting my son in a position where he might have to choose: his mother or his wife and kids,” an angry Tina tells Janelle in the trailer.
Kristopher, Austin, and Shirlene: Austin is trying to rekindle his romance with his ex-boyfriend Kristopher. But his mom Shirlene is an obstacle to his happily ever after. Shirlene’s meddling led to Kristopher and Austin’s earlier breakup. Now, she’s considering moving back to Los Angeles, which could drive another wedge between Austin and Kristopher.
Natasha, Chase, and Lori: Natasha and Lori are Southern belles vying for the attention of the same man: Lori’s son Chase. With tensions on the rise, Chase will have to navigate a tricky emotional battlefield as he tries to make both his mom and his girlfriend happy. Meanwhile, Natasha is at the end of her rope.
“I will lose my ever-loving mind if she keeps on with it,” she says of her potential future mother-in-law’s overbearing antics.
I Love a Mama’s Boy Season 4 premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
