It’s official: Sister Wives season 19 has an official premiere date. On Aug. 13, TLC released a lengthy trailer that shows fans exactly what they can expect when the fractured Brown family returns to the small-screen. Seaosn 18 ended with more of Kody Brown’s plural marriages coming to an end, and it looks like season 19 will pick right up where season 18 left off. A battle over Coyote Pass, Meri Brown’s decision to leave the family, and Christine Brown’s romance with David Woolley will all be covered in the upcoming season. So, when can fans tune in?

‘Sister Wives’ season 19 will premiere on Sept. 15

Season 19 of Sister Wives has an official premiere date, and it’s not what Mykelti Padron initially suggested. Padron, the daughter of Christine Brown and Kody Brown, suggested an August premiere date was on the way for fans. While the series isn’t coming back in August, viewers won’t have particularly long to wait. Sister Wives season 19 will officially premiere on Sept. 15, 2024. The premiere date actually makes a ton of sense. TLC has opted to debut season 19 almost exactly one year after season 18 premiered on the network. Season 18 dropped on Sept. 11, 2023.

Sister Wives will retain its Sunday night time slot. In previous years, Discovery+ subscribers could access new episodes at midnight, but that changed last season. Streaming subscribers can now access new episodes after its network debut, but not before.

What time period will season 19 of ‘Sister Wives’ cover?

While a lot has been happening for the Brown family in recent months, Sister Wives viewers likely won’t see it in the upcoming season. Fans have long criticized TLC for using old footage in the most recent seasons. The network hasn’t listened to the critics. Based on the trailer, outdated footage will be used for the upcoming season.

Season 18’s footage was particularly outdated. The season focused on Jenelle and Meri Brown planning their exits from their plural marriages. It premiered in September 2023. Meri and Jenelle announced the end of their marriages nearly a year before the season premiered.

Based on the trailer, much of the storyline for season 19 will center around events of 2022 and early 2023. If the series is picked up for a 20th season, fans would likely see what occurred in 2024, but that season would not be released until late 2025.
