Tom Brady’s Instagram Followers Are Making Fun of His Hype Post After the Patriots’ Loss
There are plenty of notable (and controversial) sports figures — and one of them is New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady. Brady has played in countless Super Bowls and has won more than any other player in the NFL. And while many sports fans are wondering when the 42-year-old superstar is going to retire, the Patriots prove season after season that they are a force to be reckoned with.
While Brady is, no doubt, one of the best football players in history, his controversial workouts, eating habits, and Instagram posts certainly rub some of his followers the wrong way. And now, his fans are making fun of him after his post he added prior to the game against the Titans. Here’s what Brady posted and how his followers are dragging him.
The New England Patriots lost to the Tennessee Titans on Jan. 4
Those watching the NFL can typically expect to see the Patriots go far in the playoffs, but such was not the case in 2020. While New England competed and won the Super Bowl in 2019, their time in the playoffs was cut short on Jan. 4 when they lost to the Tennessee Titans.
Is Brady losing his magic touch? It’s possible the team just had an off game, but it’s also possible that his age is getting the best of him after all. Despite the critics, it seems Brady will keep pressing on in the future. According to ESPN, the star quarterback said it’s “pretty unlikely” that he’ll retire after this disappointing season. But he may not stick around with the Patriots next season.
Brady is officially a free agent for the first time in his NFL career. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m not going to predict it,” Brady told his New England fans. “No one needs to make choices at this point. I love playing football. I love playing for this team. I’ve loved playing for this team for two decades and winning a lot of games. I don’t know what it looks like moving forward, so we’ll just take it day to day.”
Tom Brady’s Instagram post isn’t going over well with his followers
Brady has nearly 7 million Instagram followers, so it’s only natural that he hypes his fans up for the big games. On Jan. 4, prior to the game against Tennessee, Brady posted a video of him playing with the Patriots to the ‘gram. The video is cut with footage from a nature documentary, and Brady alludes that the Titans were competing — and would lose — against the “lions” of the NFL. The video concludes with the quote, “It’s too late to be scared.”
The video is certainly aggressive. And considering the Patriots’ loss, Brady is getting dragged for it.
“It’s too late to be playing… time to retire… thank you for your service,” one follower commented.
Another noted, “well that was short lived.”
“Bold of you to post that and lose,” yet another commented.
Gisele Bündchen may have to comfort their kids again after the loss
Brady may not be getting a ton of love from his followers after the aggressive post against the Titans, but he certainly still has his loyal followers. And there’s no doubt his supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen, will be there to comfort him in the wake of his mega loss.
Bündchen has talked in the past about how Brady needs time to mourn his losses. And when the Patriots lost the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, she also had to explain to their kids that their father can’t win every time, and that’s OK.
“Their whole life, they never won a Super Bowl. You have to let someone else win sometimes. Sometimes you have to let other people win,” Bustle reports Bündchen told her children. “We have to share. Sharing is caring.”
We’ll have to wait and see where Brady lands for next season. As for his Instagram posts, perhaps he’ll think twice before posting such an aggressive video prior to a big game.
