Tom Hiddleston plays the God of Mischief on-screen, but the actor’s mischievous tendencies extend beyond his role as Loki. In fact, he’s known for doing impressions of other stars, including some of the ones he’s worked with. His comical interpretation of what Owen Wilson would look like as Loki made the rounds online recently. However, there’s another Marvel star Hiddleston once impersonated on late-night television: Chris Evans.

What Marvel films have Loki and Captain America appeared in together?

When it comes to Marvel duos that appear on-screen together often, Hiddleston and Evans aren’t the first to come to mind. That’s probably because they’ve only starred in a handful of movies together — and even then, the actors rarely shared scenes. The Avengers probably contains the most screen time for Loki and Captain America, since it sees the Avengers team trying to defeat the trickster.

Both characters also appear in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but they only share a scene in the latter. Evans also has a cameo in Thor: The Dark World, where he portrays Loki pretending to be Captain America.

Tom Hiddleston once did an impression of Chris Evans on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

Despite not appearing in many Marvel projects together, it’s clear Hiddleston and Evans are fond of one another. That’s probably why Hiddleston breaks out his impression of his former co-star from time to time. In fact, he once imitated Evans on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Hiddleston probably won’t be taking up the role of Captain America anytime soon, but he certainly captures Evans’ personality. After showing his impression to the audience, the actor emphasized that Evans is “a lovely man.”

“I should apologize publicly,” Hiddleston said. “Chris, if you’re out there, if you’re watching, I’m sorry. I’ve done this several times.”

If Hiddleston captured Evans’ personality during his impression of him, it’s nothing compared to how well the Captain America star embodied Loki in Thor: The Dark World. Although Evans appears in his character’s signature red, white, and blue get-up, he’s playing Loki imitating him.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Hiddleston admitted that he loved his co-star’s impression of his character. He was also grateful for the opportunity to wear the Captain America suit himself at one point during the scene, something that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

“[That] was a very strange and surreal moment, nevertheless enjoyable,” Hiddleston said of the scene. “So I got to feel whatever the feeling of wearing that suit [is], which is definitely a moment. Then, they played that footage to Chris, and he did his best impression of me doing an impression him, and he does it brilliantly.”

Evans certainly does capture Loki’s snarky, condescending humor in Thor: The Dark World — to the point where it’s jarring to watch Captain America joke about “honor” and “patriotism.” The whole scene just goes to show the actor’s range — and the same can be said about Hiddleston’s impressions.
