Spider-Man is one of the world’s most popular superheroes ever. Comic readers easily related to high schooler Peter Parker, who’s a hero that still endures the problems of the typical teenager. Actor Tom Holland is the third actor to play Spider-Man over the last 20 years, but each iteration wears a different version of the iconic costume. He recently opened up about how the Spider-Man suit makes him really embarrassed for a couple of specific reasons.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ is Tom Holland’s third solo film

Holland’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Fans celebrated the actor’s version of the legendary character. He also made appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Spider-Man’s rights remain at Sony, so the character exists as part of a licensing agreement between the two companies. After some initial difficulties, the studios learned to work well together.

Holland appeared as Peter/Spider-Man in three solo films. 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming hooked audiences into his adaptation. He returned for Spider-Man: Far From Home and the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home will conclude the trilogy. The animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film series continues to show the character’s supremacy even outside of the live-action format.

Tom Holland is embarrassed by his costume

Holland appeared alongside his co-star and girlfriend Zendaya on The Graham Norton Show. They talked some about the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home. Holland talked about his frustrations with the iconic Spider-Man suit. It looks great on-screen, but the actor has his share of issues with it.

“It doesn’t keep you warm at all and, it makes you look small in all the areas you don’t want to look small!,” Holland said. “It is the same as last time and once again I asked for a zip and there isn’t one!”

The Spider-Man costume certainly wasn’t designed for comfort. It hugs him in ways that he doesn’t appreciate and lacks convenient features.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Rumors have circulated that previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield might appear in the movie. The trailers broke records and online ticket systems crashed soon after they went on sale. Graham Norton asked Holland to explain whatever he’s willing to share about the movie’s plot.

“It’s tough to tell you much,” Holland said on The Graham Norton Show. “Marvel and Sony have done such a good job of putting trailers together without giving anything away, but just enough to get everyone excited.”

Holland added: “What’s cool about the film is that it picks up right after the end of the second one and for the first time in Peter Parker’s history his identity has been revealed to the world. Everyone thinks he is a crazy villain, and it all goes horribly wrong for him.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on Dec. 17.
