Power Book IV: Force has been showcasing Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) in a new light. Following the death of his best friend and business partner James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), Tommy left everything he knew in New York behind for a fresh start in Chicago. However, the Queens gangster hasn’t exactly turned over a new leaf. He’s still as bold and fearless as ever.

Tommy has had some of the most shocking kills in the Power Universe.

Joseph Sikora explained why Tommy is still alive in the ‘Power’ Universe

Fans were shocked at the end of Power when Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) shot and killed his father Ghost. Since Tommy has always been the more hotheaded of the pair, people assumed that he would be the one to go. However, Sikora says he has a theory about why Tommy continues to thrive.

“The reason that Tommy is alive is that we had a show about selling drugs, and not just selling drugs, but the consequences, the aftermath, the destruction,” he explained via Express. “But ultimately you only had one character who started out wanting to sell drugs and finished wanting to sell drugs, and now that backdrop has outlasted the character.”

The other reason Tommy continues to live is that he likes to eliminate his enemies before they get to him.

Tommy’s most shocking kills in the ‘Power’ Universe’

Tommy has had a number of shocking kills since the beginning of Power. Though he got close to his father, Tony Teresi (William Sadler), he ended up killing him when Ghost tricked him into it. That was a pretty heart-wrenching kill, especially when Tommy found out that Ghost lied to him.

In the final season of Power, Tommy shot at Ghost, inadvertently killing Anglea (Lela Loren), destroying the one person Ghost loved above all else.

There was also the moment when Tommy killed Proctor (Jerry Ferrara), Ghost’s lawyer. It was a personal kill. He caught Proctor at home and killed him in cold blood in his penthouse apartment knowing he had a little daughter who depended on him.

Tommy hasn’t taken his last breath yet in the Power Universe, but we know he has no qualms about taking others out.

Will Tommy kill Kate?

We all know that Tommy is capable of, especially when it comes to getting retribution from the people he feels have wronged him. Now that his mother Kate (Patricia Kalember) is seemingly on her way to Chicago, she could stir things up for him, especially between the Flynn family and his brother JP (Anthony Fleming). Since we also know that Kate blames Tommy for Ghost’s death, we doubt their reunion will be rainbows and butterflies.

In fact, we would guess that before Power Book IV: Force goes off the air, Tommy could eliminated Kate by killing her. We certainly wouldn’t put it past him.
