Sometimes, Tomorrow X Together is shortened to TXT. Other times, fans refer to this boy band as the “next big thing” in K-pop music.
Together, Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai create music for fans across the globe. What’s the meaning behind their band name, though? Here’s what we know about the symbolism of “Tomorrow X Together.”
There are five members in the K-pop group, Tomorrow X Together
There are five members in this boy band — Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai. Debuting under HYBE Corporation, the same management company responsible for BTS, some listeners consider these performers to be the “next big thing” in K-pop.
In 2019, the group released their first EP, titled The Dream Chapter: Star. Since then, they have earned millions of streams on music platforms like Spotify and millions of views on their YouTube music videos. TXT also premiered a cover of Ariana Grande’s song “Thank U, Next.”
Each member takes on several roles within the group. As a singer, dancer, and “sub-rapper” for this group, Soobin is the leader of Tomorrow X Together. Together, these artists share “one dream,” which somewhat inspired the boy band’s name.
What does ‘Tomorrow X Together’ mean?
When then-Big Hit Entertainment launched the introductory website for their new boy band in 2019, they included the phrase “You and I, different but together. We explore one dream.” Days later, each member was introduced to fans with the group name being “Tomorrow X Together.”
According to an archived version of the original TXT website, the band’s overall message regards five artists who “come together under one dream in hopes of building a better tomorrow.” That’s where the “Tomorrow X Together comes from.” Users on Tomorrow X Together Fandom also note that this name in Korean is an acronym for “Moments of Alwaysness.”
What’s the meaning behind some of TXT’s songs, like ‘Anti-Romantic’ and ‘Magic’
These performers are younger than K-pop groups like BTS and BLACKPINK. That’s one of the reasons why they’re so relatable, according to fans. During an interview with Elle Magazine, the artists explained that they always “told their own story” with music. “We Lost The Summer,” a song created in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, was no exception.
“‘Wishlist’ is about wanting to give a special someone the perfect birthday gift, but they won’t tell you what it is they want,” Huening Kai said of another track off of minisode1 : Blue Hour. “As everyone can probably imagine, this is really hard to figure out. I think that it’s a very relatable subject for many people.”
Fans can catch up with Soobin and other Tomorrow X Together members on platforms like Weverse and V Live. Music by TXT is available for streaming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, while their music videos are available on YouTube.
