Is Tomorrow X Together Related to BTS?
Tomorrow X Together is one of K-pop’s up-and-coming boy bands, releasing Ariana Grande covers and coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic-inspired originals since their debut. These artists are also close friends with Grammy-nominated BTS.
Are any of these idols related to one another? Here’s what we know about TXT’s relationship to BTS.
Tomorrow X Together and BTS are under the same management company (HYBE Corporation)
Tomorrow X Together (also known as TXT by fans) is one of K-pop’s up-and-coming groups. There are five members in this boy band — Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai. As a singer, dancer, and “sub-rapper” for this group, Soobin is the leader of Tomorrow X Together.
Tomorrow X Together debuted on March 4, 2019, with the EP titled The Dream Chapter: Star. Since then, they’ve released covers and several original songs, ranking in millions of plays on YouTube music videos.
However, some know this K-pop group as another boy band under HYBE Corporation, formerly Big Hit Entertainment. That’s the same label that manages the Grammy-nominated septet, BTS. Although a few years separate the idols in terms of age, BTS and TXT have a close relationship.
“It’s a great honor to be mentioned with them,” Soobin said during an interview with Billboard with regards to the boy band’s relationship with BTS. “We learned a lot of things from them.”
No, the Tomorrow X Together members are not related to BTS
These artists are under the same management label. However, the Tomorrow X Together members are not related to the BTS members. BTS and TXT are close friends, though, often sharing support for one another.
For one video with Elle, the TXT members played a game of “song association.” When they had to perform a song with the word “Tomorrow,” they chose a song of the same title by BTS. When the BTS members “revamped the alphabet” for an Entertainment Weekly video, Jungkook gave a shoutout to Tomorrow X Together for the letter “T.”
The BTS members sometimes offer advice to TXT
Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are older than the Tomorrow X Together members. As a result, the BTS members often offer words of encouragement and wisdom for Tomorrow X Together.
“Last year, before we went to the U.S. for our showcase, they told us that when they first started out, they tried to bring overflowing energy to each performance,” Yeonjun said during an interview with Variety. “I think we took that to heart and really tried to put on powerful performances.”
BTS is one of the biggest boy bands in the world, performing in sold-out stadiums, becoming the first K-pop group to perform at the Grammy Awards, and even breaking records with songs like “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Life Goes On.”
Music by Tomorrow X Together, including their song “We Lost the Summer,” is available on most major music streaming platforms.
