On Sister Wives, marital woes unfolded on the small-screen over the last several seasons. While Kody Brown’s marriage to Robyn Brown appears inexplicably strong, it appears like more marital problems will eventually follow the Brown family. A recent clip of Mykelit Padron and Tony Padron discussing her recent birthday has some fans wondering if the North Carolina-bound pair are dealing with marital strife.

Tony Padron admits to snubbing Mykelti Padron on her birthday

Mykelti Padron and Tony Padron have been married for seven years. While the couple often appears in Patreon videos together, some Sister Wives fans are concerned about the state of their union after a recent admission.

Reddit users noted that Mykelti and Tony revealed that the father of three failed to call his wife on her birthday earlier this month. Tony insisted he was busy at a chess tournament but had wished his wife a happy birthday the previous day. The Reddit post that revealed the information has since been deleted. TV Show Ace grabbed a screenshot of the discussion before the original poster scrapped it.

While Mykelti and Tony both brushed off the snub as inconsequential, Sister Wives fans are concerned about what it means for their future together. The couple’s family has expanded rapidly, and they plan to undertake a massive move that will pull them far from their support system, which will likely add stress to their marriage. Is the missed birthday a big deal? It’s hard to say, but it isn’t a positive development in their relationship.

When did Tony and Mykelti Padron meet?

Tony and Mykelti Padron didn’t have the backing of the Brown family when they decided to marry in 2016. The couple were exceptionally young and had only dated briefly before getting engaged. They met in October 2015 when Mykleti lived and worked in St. George, Utah. They announced their engagement nine months later. Mykelti and Tony wed in December 2016, just 14 months after their first date.

The first few years of their marriage were largely uneventful, but by 2020 they were expecting. Their first child, Avalon, was born in April 2021. After Avalon’s birth, the family moved from St. George, Utah, to Salt Lake City, Utah. In November 2022, they welcomed twins Archer and Ace. With three children born just 19 months apart, the duo relies heavily on help from family. Their support system includes Christine Brown. Christine moved to Utah following her divorce from Kody Brown. Christine currently lives just miles from Tony and Mykelti in Lehi, Utah.

Big changes are coming again. Tony and Mykelti are planning to leave Utah and head to North Carolina, where they will be largely on their own to raise their family. The couple has yet to reveal the exact reason for their move or when they plan to head east. Still, it is coming sooner rather than later. Could it spell doom for their marriage? Some Sister Wives viewers believe so.

If Mykelti and Tony are experiencing marital problems at the moment, TLC likely won’t feature it in the upcoming season of Sister Wives. Season 19, set to premiere sometime in August or September 2024, will include footage from 2022. It is unclear if TLC will order more episodes of the controversial reality TV series after season 19 or if it has spinoff potential.
