Could Tony Stark (Iron Man) Make A Cameo in an Upcoming Disney+ Marvel Series?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 4 may still have a few surprises for fans. One of the biggest changes in the inclusion of Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+, and the original television shows that accompany it.
Could Robert Downey Jr. make a cameo as his Iron Man/Tony Stark character? Here are a few fan theories surrounding shows titled The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision.
Disney+ has ‘Loki,’ ‘WandaVision,’ and ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ set to premiere on this platform
If you’ve binge-watched all of the Marvel movies and are looking for some new superhero content, Disney+ has you covered. At the D23 Expo (and at last year’s Comic-Con,) the Walt Disney Company announced its plans to expand the MCU to its streaming platform.
Three of the next Marvel series’ headed for Disney+ in the coming years include The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision. Each series features the original actors portraying their characters. What’s still unclear is which other Marvel characters will appear in these television shows.
Will Robert Downey Jr. make a cameo in a Disney+ series?
Some fans think that a cameo is highly unlikely, especially because of the events of Avengers: Endgame. For the 2019 release Spider-Man: Far From Home, the absence of Tony Stark played a huge role in the storytelling. However, if some of these Disney+ series’ travel back to the past, there’s at least a chance of another Robert Downey Jr. cameo.
Marvel’s What If…? aside, (which is still in the works,) Marvel and Disney gave a glimpse into three upcoming original televisions shows, exclusive to Disney’s streaming platform. That includes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki.
Which Disney+ Marvel series could include Tony Stark as Iron Man?
Of the three upcoming Marvel series, the least likely to include Tony Stark is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Because this series presumably takes off right after the events of Avengers: Endgame, following Tony Stark’s death, there’s no chance of Bucky and Sam bumping into him.
WandaVision, on the other hand, deals somewhat with time travel. In the trailer, fans saw the Scarlet Witch dressed for different period sitcoms. She’s accompanied by her partner, Vision, who was crushed by Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War.
The third series, set for its release during 2021, follows the God of Mischief on another one of his plans to burn something “to the ground.” According to the Disney+ library, this television show also takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Was Loki alive that whole time?
For both WandaVision and Loki, it’s unclear, exactly, how the events will unfold. That could mean Tony Stark or even Steve Rogers could come back, although nothing has been revealed by Disney just yet. The official trailer for all three Disney+ originals will be released within the coming months.
