When did ‘Trailer Park Boys’ debut on television?

In 1999, the movie Trailer Park Boys hit theaters. Two years later, the series of the same name premiered on the Showcase network, according to IMDb. The series followed a group of residents who live in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Many of the main characters are ex-convicts, and their previous dirty deeds lead to outrageous plot lines, many of which involve drugs, alcohol, or general misbehavior.

Due to the staggering success of the television series, three more full-length films were released: The Movie, released in 2006, Countdown to Liquor Day, released in 2009, and Don’t Legalize It, released in 2014. The original series has also inspired a host of specials. Through it all, fans have remained as devoted to the unconventional series as ever, tuning in to any project involving the beloved characters.

Who played Cory and Trevor on ‘Trailer Park Boys’?

Cory and Trevor were two of the most popular characters in the Trailer Park Boys series. The two are often rolled into the same scenes. And they even are shown to live together on the show in the same trailer. Cory is played by Canadian actor Cory Bowles and is one of the youngest residents of the Sunnyvale Trailer Park. Trevor, as played by actor Michael Jackson, is a bumbling petty criminal who is never far from Cory’s side.

During the first six seasons of Trailer Park Boys, Cory and Trevor were mainstays on the show. And they were a big part of many of the show’s most outrageous, NSFW plotlines. However, by the time the seventh season rolled around, fans realized that the two characters were no longer around. And with the show never really addressing their exodus, fans were left to wait and wonder.

Why did the actors behind Cory and Trevor leave ‘Trailer Park Boys’?

Foreign Actors You Probably Thought Were American

The showrunners never directly talked about the reason for Cory and Trevor’s exit. But the actors behind the characters did eventually open up.

According to ScreenRant, Jackson wrote a lengthy blog post where he talked about why he and Bowles decided to say farewell to the show. He admitted that while they were happy to accept relatively low pay at the beginning of the series, he explained that as the show grew their rate of pay did not. This left them both feeling as though they were being underpaid.

Although the characters of Cory and Trevor were no longer around past the sixth season, their names were still mentioned every now and then on the show. This left the possibility of an eventual return up in the air.
