On Nov. 10, 2023, Swift introduced her dad and her boyfriend while in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for her record-breaking Eras Tour. The meeting came after Swift’s concert was canceled that evening due to inclement weather.
The “Down Bad” singer and Super Bowl winner were spotted arriving at Elena, a steakhouse inside the Four Seasons Buenos Aires, walking hand-in-hand through the restaurant. They reportedly spent several hours having a steak dinner with Swift’s dad before exiting to cheers from restaurantgoers and staff, per Daily Mail.
Kelce convinced Taylor’s dad to wear Chiefs gear to the Eras Tour
Shortly after meeting Swift’s dad, Kelce opened up about the experience on a November 2023 episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end joked about convincing the Swifts, who hail from Pennsylvania, to join Chiefs Kingdom “one by one,” saying he “got him [Swift’s dad] over to the good side, baby.”
Swift’s dad is a longtime Philadelphia Eagles fan. However, that didn’t prevent him from wearing a KC lanyard at his daughter’s Eras concert in Argentina, which he attended alongside Kelce the night after they met. Also that night, Swift changed the lyrics to “Karma” as a nod to him. Kelce memorably missed a high-five from Swift’s dad to celebrate the shoutout.
Joking about Swift’s dad wearing Chiefs gear, Kelce’s brother Jason, a retired center for the Eagles, remarked: “What are we doing? You’re gonna let this man’s devilishly good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a lifetime of fandom, Scott? Ridiculous.”
Kelce, who is headed to the Super Bowl for the third year in a row on Feb. 9, 2025, then revealed he made it happen at their introductory dinner. “I might have persuaded him the night before at dinner when I met him,” the NFL player added. “Maybe, who knows?”
Also on the podcast, Kelce described Swift’s dad as “a huge football guy,” sharing that he played college football as “a linebacker turned center.”
Travis and Taylor’s families get along
Since meeting Swift’s dad, Kelce has spent a lot of time with the Swift clan. (That includes Scott, Swift’s mom Andrea, and brother Austin.) The Swifts and Kelce families reportedly spent Thanksgiving together in Nashville, Tenn., at the “Fortnight” singer’s home in Music City (via People).
According to Donna Kelce, the three-time Super Bowl winner’s mother, the two families get along well thanks in large part to being from the Midwest. Mama Kelce described the Swifts as being “wonderful people, very to Earth, [and] very Midwestern” in a 2024 Entertainment Tonight interview.
“Ohio and Pennsylvania are right next to each other so we kind of understand each other. So it’s really kind of nice,” she added. “It feels like home.”
Swift is said to get along with the Kelce family “seamlessly,” something her boyfriend of 1.5 years “loves.”
