Travis Kelce is known for playing with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, his relationship with Taylor Swift has opened opportunities in the entertainment industry. Kelce has already made on-screen appearances and voiced his excitement over future possibilities in showbusiness. While he doesn’t currently have any plans for NFL retirement, he may be eyeing a full-time Hollywood career once he calls it quits on football.
On Dec. 31, 2024, Kelce posted a trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 to Instagram. The trailer shows his cameo. “It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore,” Kelce says to Adam Sandler’s iconic character with professional hockey aspirations, Happy Gilmore.
“It’s great to see you back in 2025, Mr. Gilmore!” Kelce captioned the post. “Wishing everyone a HAPPY New Year with HAPPY GILMORE 2, coming to @netflix in the new year.”
Fans are excited to see more of Kelce on their screens. Sandler also expressed his happiness over working with the NFL player.
“He’s a very nice guy,” Sandler said of Kelce while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
Kelce’s post about Happy Gilmore doesn’t mean he’s giving up the NFL anytime soon. “I really can’t put a timeframe on it,” Kelce said in June 2024, according to Sports Illustrated. “I love coming to work every single day. Obviously, I know there are opportunities outside of football for me. … I’m gonna do it until the wheels fall off. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen anytime soon.”

Travis Kelce has an effective connection to the entertainment world thanks to Taylor Swift. A source told Life & Style that Adam Sandler wants to connect with Swift, which is part of his reasoning for bringing Kelce into the fold for Happy Gilmore 2.
“Adam knows that bringing Travis in on the film also brings him into Taylor’s world,” the insider alleged. “Since Sadie and Sunny [Sandler] will have small parts in this movie, like some of Adam’s other films, they’re banking on Taylor showing up to cheer on Travis when he shoots his scene!”
Sandler previously admitted that Swift makes him “a little jumpy” because of his daughters’ love for the pop star.
As for what Kelce thinks, he allegedly doesn’t mind that his connection to Swift is getting him new gigs.
“Travis knows he’s getting these acting breaks from Adam and others because of his relationship with Taylor,” another insider alleged, “but he’s not above taking advantage of it!”

An insider told The U.S. Sun that Travis Kelce “couldn’t believe” he was allowed to work with Adam Sandler in a professional capacity.
“Travis couldn’t believe it; it’s like a dream come true for him as Adam Sandler is one of his idols, a heavyweight in the movie business, and he loves his movies, so it’s a perfect opportunity for him to work with one of his favorite directors,” the source said. “Travis is excited about it; he is taking the opportunity very seriously, and he wants to do great.”
The insider added that Kelce and Sandler “get along super well,” as they are both “simple guys, easy going and chill, and they like to laugh a lot, so they are a perfect match.”
