Travis Kelce Invested in New Security Guards and Dogs After ‘Still Really Bothered’ by Home Invasion

Months before the Super Bowl, burglars stole from Kelce’s mansion in the Kansas City suburbs, and they also hit Patrick Mahomes place. A source says Kelce beefed up the security in his home following the thievery. Here’s what he did to make himself and Taylor Swift feel safer.
Travis Kelce allegedly invested $40,000 in new security for his Kansas City home
Travis Kelce has made serious investments into his home in Leawood, Kansas, following a break-in. Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ homes were targeted in a series of burglaries in October 2024. The thieves took $20,000 and $100,000 worth of jewelry from Kelce’s home. The police were able to recover a stolen watch in Providence, Rhode Island, the following month.
A source told The U.S. Sun that Kelce put $40,000 into making his Kansas City mansion more secure, as he was “still really bothered” by the burglary at the end of 2024 into 2025.
“Travis felt the urgency of taking care of this situation as soon as possible,” the source explained. “It was very uncomfortable to deal with.” The insider added that the house “is a sanctuary for him and his family and loved ones. He doesn’t want to go through a bad situation like the robbery ever again.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end now has 10 cameras set up on his property with new lights and motion detectors. He also allegedly spent $9,000 on a German Shepherd and an Anatolian Shepherd to guard his house. In addition, Kelce hired two security guards for $6,000 per month.
“Travis decided to do things the best way, investing money on alarms and security personnel and dogs to put himself in the safest situation possible,” the insider continued. “All he wants is to be safe.”
Taylor Swift allegedly ‘felt bad’ about the burglary
Taylor Swift didn’t have any of her personal belongings stolen in the burglary of Travis Kelce’s mansion. However, a source told The U.S. Sun that she “felt bad” about the incident.
“Taylor felt bad about what happened, even though she didn’t have many belongings there,” the source alleged. “She was more concerned for Travis and the Mahomes family.”
Thankfully, Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates and their family members pulled together to gift him jerseys from NFL favorites like Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, and Rob Gronkowski, among other items. In total, Kelce received $120,000 in gifts.
“His teammates, friends, and family know that he has been very pissed about getting some of his favorites jerseys stolen during the robbery,” the source added. “So they made sure he’s got some nice, new pieces to put into his collection.”
Kelce, of course, was incredibly thankful for the gifts. “Travis couldn’t stop saying thank you to everyone,” the insider continued.
Taylor Swift might buy a home in Kansas City to stay near Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are more serious than ever in their romance. Swift already has homes in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York City, and Rhode Island. And she might buy another mansion in Kansas City to have a new place near her NFL boyfriend.
“When they have time, they want to look at real estate,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding that the couple has “talked about exploring buying a home together.”
Swift is also renovating her iconic Rhode Island home. She has $1.7 million construction permits to remodel the kitchen and enlarge a bedroom suite. It sounds like Kelce might spend a lot of time in Rhode Island during the NFL offseason.
