Travis Kelce wants more than a career with the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end seems to want to break into Hollywood, and he’s already making headway. Now that he has ties to Taylor Swift, more people than ever have eyes on Kelce’s name, and he’s snagged roles as a host in Prime’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie.

Kelce continues to look for new opportunities to break into Hollywood. A source told The Sun that Kelce had a “long talk” with Matthew McConaughey while at the U.S. Open with Taylor Swift in September 2024.

“They had a great chat about the movie industry,” the source said of the NFL star and the actor. “They spoke about navigating it after so many years, about his experience, and about getting some advice.” The source added that McConaughey is a huge football fan, so the duo also talked about sports.

Music industry giants Usher and Bad Bunny also attended the U.S. Open, and Kelce allegedly spoke to them as well. Kelce has ties to the music industry with his Kansas City music festival, Kelce Jam, which he hopes to expand.

“Travis always wants to extend his network,” the source added. “He knew many people in the sports, movie, and music industry were going to be at the tennis.”

Travis Kelce has the connections to potentially make it big in Hollywood. However, a source told The Sun that he might have a more challenging time than expected.

“Travis is a star because of his relationship with Taylor Swift, his championship football prowess, and the natural charisma he has shown on his podcast and elsewhere,” the source said. “But making the transition to a true Hollywood mainstay is a lot trickier. And his hosting gig on Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? isn’t the instant stepping stone to the A-list it might have seemed when he signed up for the gig.”

The source added that Kelce still wears “training wheels” in the acting world. “Even though he’s trying to establish his show business brand apart from Taylor, can he really do any of this without her there every step of the way?” they questioned.

Another source said that Travis Kelce ‘accelerated his Hollywood game plan’

Travis Kelce is wasting no time when it comes to getting ahead in show business. A source told Life & Style that he “totally accelerated his Hollywood game plan” after winning the Super Bowl in 2024.

“Travis is not messing around, and in the three months since the Super Bowl, he’s totally accelerated his Hollywood ​game plan and made multiple trips to town completely stealthily and sewn up a lot of support and opportunities in the process,” the insider said.

It’s unclear how long Kelce will continue his career in the NFL, as it seems like he’s solidifying his future in acting.
