Travis Kelce ‘Can’t Wait’ to ‘Hang Up His Boots’ and Retire After Marrying Taylor Swift, Source Says
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fans can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for the power couple. Swift and Kelce made waves in 2024 and sparked engagement rumors on several occasions. And they have an impressive net worth in the billions when combined. Now, a source says Kelce “can’t wait” for the day he retires so he can spend his time doting on Swift.
Travis Kelce allegedly ‘can’t wait’ to dote on Taylor Swift after retiring, a source says
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift pursue their goals with determination. Kelce initially scored a date with Swift thanks to his tenacity. And Swift seems to love Kelce’s star power with the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, Kelce is dabbling in the entertainment world. He is seemingly looking to make a name for himself outside the NFL.
Kelce doesn’t appear to currently have retirement plans in the works. However, a source told RadarOnline that the Chiefs tight end desires to become a “house husband” to Swift.
“He can’t wait to be looking after Taylor 24/7,” the source alleged. “He wants to be somewhere between a house husband, a mentor, and a manager. That’s his dream: to get married to Taylor and hang up his boots. He knows his body can’t take too much more of the pain he receives in the NFL, and that will be Taylor’s gain.”
Swift and Kelce aren’t engaged just yet. However, it seems likely that they will have serious relationship talks in the new year.
“They’ve built a lot of trust,” a source told Us Weekly. “They both knew what they signed up for and navigated it well. They’re in love and don’t care what others think.”
Travis Kelce possibly hinted at retirement on his podcast
With Travis Kelce taking an active interest in the entertainment industry thanks to Taylor Swift, Kansas City Chiefs fans wondered if Kelce is actively looking toward retirement. In September 2024, Kelce defended his love of the NFL and said he hadn’t considered retiring yet.
“It didn’t cross my mind one bit,” he said on The Rich Eisen Show, according to The U.S. Sun. “I think the excitement of the challenge of this year, being able to maybe do it a third time in a row — I think that alone was all I needed. That was an instant thought, so there was really not a chance in hell that I wasn’t coming back this year.”
However, in December 2024, Kelce discussed potentially playing his “last” game in Cleveland on the New Heights podcast.
“When we flew in, I felt like a tour guide. I was telling everybody every single city that we were going past, every monument, every building,” Kelce said of his home city. ” … Silly memories … were going in and out of my mind. And it felt so surreal. I don’t know if it’s the last time I’ll ever play in Cleveland, but it kinda felt like I was just giving it one last hurrah before I’m done because I’ve only played there twice in 12 years.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end might make a full-time move into entertainment
While a source alleged that Travis Kelce is looking forward to retirement, there’s a good chance he’ll make a full-time move into the entertainment industry. A source told The U.S. Sun that Kelce sent a representative to the Venice Film Festival to “network” outside of American movie companies.
“They want to see if Travis could interest international movie producers and companies and if there are any possibilities,” the insider explained. “He doesn’t want to just focus on the American movie industry. His reputation is beyond the borders of America, and he is a very good image internationally now, and he got approached by many people working in the movie and TV industry from countries outside of the U.S.”
