“I’ve been under scrutiny. You handle it beautifully.” The lyrics from Taylor Swift’s “Lavender Haze” track essentially sum up how she reportedly fell “more” in love with Travis Kelce. The Grammy winner, 34, reportedly “worried” Kelce wouldn’t fare well in the face of intense scrutiny as their romance blossomed

Swift didn’t want to ‘scare’ Kelce away

According to Us Weekly, Kelce’s reaction to the sheer amount of attention that comes with being connected to Swift romantically made sparks fly even more between the Super Bowl winner and “Fortnight” singer.

“His life has changed significantly with the increased public attention,” an insider told the outlet. Swift, they claimed, had concerns about it pushing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end “away.”

“Taylor was worried that bringing Travis into her world would scare him away,” they said. “But he embraced it and handled it so well.” That, the source explained, “made her fall in love with him even more.” (They’ve reportedly had talks about the future and starting a family.)

Another source noted it wasn’t always easy, especially in the early days of Swift and Kelce’s relationship before he moved into his current 17,000-square-foot mansion in Leawood, Missouri.

“People would show up at his house and leave things on his doorstep,” the insider said. “It kind of freaked him out at first. He didn’t feel safe.”

“Travis was a star before Taylor, but this has catapulted him to a household name,” another source added. “He has been handling it the best he can. He’s always had good people around him.”

Kelce didn’t want to act ‘strange’ while Swift smoothly navigated the spotlight

In a December 2023 WSJ Magazine cover interview, Kelce explained how Swift’s level of fame, involving a “magnifying glass” on her at all times, was new to him. However, he didn’t want to crumble amid such intense public “scrutiny” while she went about her life.

“I’ve never dealt with it. But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it,” Kelce said. “The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day. Paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life.”

“When she acts like that,” he added, “I better not be the one acting all strange.”Their relationship, as Swift told Time in her Person of the Year interview, includes them “showing up for each other” in very public ways.

“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said.

Life with Taylor Swift is ‘like a dream’ for Travis Kelce

On the Oct. 16, 2024, episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, 36, Kelce spoke to guest Pat McAffee about the seemingly endless number of celebrities he’s met through Swift.

“At this point, you can’t fathom what’s going on, so it’s like a dream,” Kelce said. “You’re not surprised by the next thing that comes into your life or the person who walks through the door.”

Kelce’s joined celebs in the VIP area at many of Swift’s Eras tour concerts. He’s also been spotted with Swift going out to dinner with some of her A-list friends such as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. A previous report claimed Kelce didn’t “fit in” with the celebrity crowd.

“Yeah, It’s crazy. It’s insane,” he continued. “I don’t know how I’ve got to live this silly a** f***ing life, man, but I’m definitely fortunate for it for sure.”
