Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are slated to make history with Super Bowl LIX. And fans are waiting to see whether Kelce will continue with the NFL post-game. In 2024, Kelce dabbled in the entertainment industry and seemed to love his budding acting career. He mentioned in past interviews how he might be open to quitting football and pursuing Hollywood sooner rather than later.

So, what does Taylor Swift think of Kelce potentially retiring from the NFL? Sports TV personality Stephen A. Smith asked Kelce the question.

“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce said. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the game and cheering for me. So, I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”

While Swift supports Kelce’s NFL career, Kelce doesn’t know whether he wants to continue.

“It changes every single day,” the tight end told Smith regarding how he feels about staying with the Chiefs. “I love everything that I’m doing in this building, but at the end of the day, I’m not having that extreme success on the field as I have individually. … I’ll reevaluate it like I always do, and I’ll probably tell myself how much I love this thing, and I’ll come back next year. But, it’s something you have to keep in perspective. I never want to get to the point where I’m not helping this team win or I’m hurting this team more than I’m helping this team.”

Despite Taylor Swift’s encouragement, Travis Kelce seems unsure about his future with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, an insider told DailyMail.com that Kelce “is not ready to retire” from the game he loves most.

“When it comes to his success in acting and podcasting and seeing the opportunities his brother [Jason] has had after his retirement, Travis is not ready to retire himself,” the source said ahead of Super Bowl LIX. “Whether the Chiefs win or lose, he would want to either go for the four-peat or avenge losing in the Super Bowl and would love to try to get back there.”

The insider said Kelce will likely reevaluate retirement after next season, “but right now, all his intentions are to stay with the Chiefs and play in the NFL next season whether they win or lose the Super Bowl.”

Will Travis Kelce get down on one knee for Taylor Swift following Super Bowl LIX? A reporter asked the tight end this question during opening night in New Orleans on Feb. 3, 2025.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” he answered with a smile, according to E! News.

Whether Kelce proposes or not, he intends to make Swift proud.

“I better hold up my end of the bargain, right?” he told reporters. “She’s up there being the superstar that she is and never taking no for an answer and always working her tail off. I better match that energy for sure.”
