Travis Kelce Said He Was ‘Losing’ Money to Have Taylor Swift and Friends Attend the Super Bowl — He Reportedly Spent Millions
At this year’s Super Bowl, Taylor Swift watched the game from a suite with friends and Travis Kelce’s family members. The large box held dozens of people hoping to see the Kansas City Chiefs come out on top. Prior to the game, Kelce joked about the amount of money he spent to get friends and family members to the Super Bowl. He wasn’t exaggerating; he reportedly could have spent up to $3 million.
Travis Kelce reportedly spent millions on a suite at the Super Bowl
Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Kelce spoke about how he was preparing for the game. He said part of his pre-game preparations included figuring out how to get his friends and family members there.
“I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come,” he told his brother, Jason Kelce, on their podcast New Heights (per Page Six).
Kelce reportedly paid for his girlfriend, friends, and family members to attend the game in a suite. These VIP suites, which can hold up to 40 people, reportedly go for up to $3 million.
“Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money,” he added.
Travis Kelce dodged questions about proposing to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl
Ahead of the game, many wondered if Kelce would propose to Swift after the Super Bowl. This possibility felt increasingly unlikely given the Chiefs’ performance and eventual loss to the Eagles. Even before the game, though, Kelce dodged the question.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” he told reporters when asked (via E! News).
He said he hoped to emulate his girlfriend at the game.
“I better hold up my end of the bargain, right?” he said. “She’s up there being the superstar that she is and never taking no for an answer and always working her tail off. I better match that energy for sure.”
She reportedly hoped to avoid attention at the game
Given Swift’s level of fame, it was nearly impossible for her to keep a low profile at the Super Bowl. The crowd even booed her during the game. She hoped to make it through without much attention on her, though.
“Taylor doesn’t want to be the center of attention,” a source told The U.S. Sun, adding, “She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game.”
Her goal for the game was to support Kelce to the best of her ability.
“She wants Travis to enjoy his Super Bowl week experience and be at 110% for Sunday, as she is dreaming about him making history and reaching another dream of his, winning another Super Bowl and making a three-peat,” said the source. “He loves that she is super supportive, and he is the same with her, as they got each other’s back whatever happens.”
