Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs were disappointed in their Super Bowl LIX performance. The team lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Taylor Swift watched it all go down from her suite. Rumors swirled around Kelce’s potential NFL retirement following the loss. However, a source says Kelce is “already thinking” about next season with the Chiefs and has no plan to retire.

Travis Kelce is allegedly feeling ‘super motivated’ to continue in the NFL after Super Bowl LIX

Before Super Bowl LIX, Travis Kelce seemed unsure of his future with the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been dabbling in the entertainment industry since dating Taylor Swift. Kelce hosts Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and has taken small roles in Grotesquerie and Happy Gilmore 2. While the tight end will likely continue his foray into Hollywood, he allegedly has no plans of giving up football just yet.

An insider told The U.S. Sun that Kelce is “already thinking” about next season following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl defeat and remains “super motivated” to get back on the field. The source noted that Kelce is “hungry” for a better outcome in future seasons.

“He isn’t going to retire,” the insider alleged. “He wants to win more Super Bowls. His goal is to play three more seasons. … He still feels that he can play at the highest level for three seasons, and I am sure that if he decides to stay with the Chiefs at the end of his current contract, there will be no issues extending his deal.”

However, the insider added that Kelce knows “the next season has to be perfect.”

“He is desperate to make the Chiefs make history again,” they said.

Travis Kelce Might’ve Given a Clue About His 2025 Career Goals With New Year’s Eve Instagram Post

Travis Kelce spoke about the Chiefs’ devastating Super Bowl loss on his podcast, New Heights. He explained how football can “humble” those who play it extremely quickly, which is what seemed to have happened during the big game.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow, man,” Kelce noted. “Every time we felt like we made a big play or we got something going, a penalty would happen, or we’d be going backwards. Then, on top of that, just not executing the play calls. It wasn’t the play calls. It was the cumulative effort of everybody just not finding a way to get it done, man. To happen on the biggest stage sucks, but to have it happen for the second time of my career on the biggest stage, it’s a tough pill to swallow.”

The tight end commented on his future with the NFL. Kelce said he’s not “making any crazy decisions” just yet.

“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year,” he noted. “Right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m kicking every can that I can down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions, but right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding that there’s a lot that goes into this thing.”

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said Taylor Swift ‘fully’ encourages him to ‘enjoy’ playing the game

Does Taylor Swift want Travis Kelce to call it quits on the NFL? Kelce says Swift “fully” encourages him to continue enjoying playing the game, so it seems he’ll have to make his own decision regarding retirement.

“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce told TV personality Stephen A. Smith. “She loves coming to Arrowhead and coming to the game and cheering for me. So, I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”

In the same interview, Kelce noted that he’s “not having that extreme success on the field” that he hoped for.

“I love everything that I’m doing in this building, but at the end of the day, I’m not having that extreme success on the field as I have individually,” he said. “… I’ll reevaluate it like I always do, and I’ll probably tell myself how much I love this thing, and I’ll come back next year.”
