Travis Kelce’s Family Has ‘Never Seen’ Him ‘so Happy With a Girlfriend Before,’ Would ‘Love’ Him to Marry Taylor Swift
The Kelce family is reportedly all for Taylor Swift joining their ranks. An insider says Travis Kelce’s relatives are such big fans of the Grammy winner and NFL star’s relationship that they’d “love” to see it go the distance.
The Kelce family thinks Taylor Swift is a ‘perfect fit for Travis’
Apparently Swift doesn’t need to win over the Kelce family because she already has. According to a Page Six report, the “Down Bad” singer is “perfect” for Kelce in his family’s eyes.
A source close to the Kelces told the outlet the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s family is ready for an engagement and marriage. They claimed the entire Kelce family “adores” Swift. Furthermore, they think she’s a “perfect fit for Travis.”
Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023. Kelce had put the pop star “on blast”—her words—during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast. The three-time Super Bowl champion explained at the time he couldn’t give Swift a friendship bracelet with her number at her Eras show. Why? She wasn’t doing meet-and-greets.
Kelce’s mom and dad, Donna and Ed Kelce, as well as Jason, “would love to see Taylor and Travis spend their lives together,” the insider said. “They’ve never seen Travis so happy with a girlfriend before.”
The Kelces “know Taylor isn’t using Travis for his fame and that she truly loves and cares about him for who he is,” they added, noting “they feel like Taylor has a heart of gold.”
The Kelces ‘gets along great’ with Swift and her family
Melding two families can be difficult, but it’s apparently not an issue for the Swift and Kelce clans. “[The Kelce] family gets along great with Taylor’s family too,” the source said. “Their families blend seamlessly.”
The “Fortnight” singer has attended many Chiefs games alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, and father, Ed Kelce, as well her own parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, and brother, Austin Swift.
Previously, an insider claimed Kelce “loves” how Swift gets along well with his family. So much so that “it’s almost like she’s known his family forever.”
Even Mama Kelce has discussed the families getting along. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in 2024, Donna credited it to being from the Midwest. Calling the Swifts “wonderful people, very to Earth, [and] very Midwestern,” she said “Ohio and Pennsylvania are right next to each other so we kind of understand each other, so it’s really kind of nice. It feels like home.”
Travis and Taylor are currently dealing with the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss
While the Kelce family may be all in on Tayvis/Traylor, the pair are currently dealing with KC’s failed attempt at a “three-peat” on Super Bowl Sunday. The Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 on Feb. 9, 2025, with Swift and Kelce’s family in New Orleans, La., to watch it play out live.
Following the loss, the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer is reportedly “just trying to be there” for Kelce, 35, and “supporting” him. Meanwhile, according to body language expert Judi James, losing the Super Bowl brings their first “big challenge” as a couple, consoling “somebody that is very miserable.”
