Trina Braxton Is Married! Inside Details Of The ‘Braxton Family Values’ Star’s Wedding
Trina Braxton is a married woman! The 45-year-old singer and reality star wed Von Scales in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The business owner proposed to Trina this past Spring. She’s been teasing wedding details to her social media followers for the past few months but did not reveal the actual date. Trina and Von met soon after her divorce from her ex-husband, Gabe Solis. In an interview with Essence Magazine, Trina explained that she and Von met through a mutual friend. She also spoke about the unexpected connection she felt with Von.
“When Von was visiting and doing some work, my friend was like, ‘Hey, I know this guy and he just got out of a relationship. You two would really hit it off.’ And we did! Our first meeting was at my friend Jamie Dukes’ house, who is an ex-football player. Then we all decided to do a group first date [with Dukes and his wife] and go to the movies and dinner together. Then two days later, we went out by ourselves.”

Having a long distance relationship helped in getting to know each other. They spent a lot of time on the phone in between visits.
Trina quickly fell in love with Von but knew he was the man for her when her ex-husband died unexpectedly from cancer. It was an emotional time for Trina and Von graciously supported her throughout her healing process. She told Essence,
“Von had his moments of support. For him it was difficult to watch his significant other grieve over their ex, but it was more than that because he was my friend and raised my children when their biological dad didn’t. At the end of the day, he couldn’t help but respect [Gabe] for that.”

He proposed in front of Trina’s family at a weekend getaway in celebration of her younger sister Tamar’s birthday.

Ahead of her nuptials, Trina showed off her weight loss on her TV One talk show, Sister Circle. Her co-hosts surprised her with a bridal shower on-air, along with a surprise visit from her sister Towanda and her mother Evelyn.
The ceremony and reception that followed took place on Sunday Dec. 15. While no official photos have been released yet, guests shared as much as they could about the anticipated wedding day online. According to various Instagram posts, the wedding was held in Von’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Tagged locations of photos posted on Instagram show that the reception was held at a venue called Windows on Washington.
A Braxton family fan page showed the newlyweds at what appeared to be their reception. Von donned a gray suit while Trina wore an off the shoulder white top and pants. Her hair was pulled up in a natural ponytail, accessorized by a bejeweled head piece. Trina’s huge engagement ring was on full display as she smiled while she and Von posed with a guest.
The last time Braxton Family Values aired, the sisters were at odds. Luckily, it seems they have mended their relationships – or at least but their beef to the side in support of Trina’s big day. All of the Braxton girls were present for the wedding, including their brother, Mikey. It’s not certain if Trina’s sisters served as her bridesmaids but both Tamar and Towanda wore pink colored dresses. Traci wore a sequined blue gown while Toni opted for a more unisex look and rocked a gray tailored suit jacket as a dress.
The guest list included close family and friends and tons of celebrities. Some of the notable attendees included The Apprentice alum, Omarosa Manigualt Newman, Taj George of SWV, and Trina’s Sister Circle co-hosts.
Von was a huge presence on the last season of Braxton Family Values. Hopefully the cameras were there to capture their special day. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Scales.
