Food Network star Trisha Yearwood has got you covered with a perfect comfort food side to bring to your next gathering. With the warmest weather fast approaching, it’s time for summer’s favorite sides. Baked beans are generally always found during cookouts or family celebrations. The Trisha’s Southern Kitchen star has applied an easy and flavorful twist to her recipe that will quickly replace your traditional side during your next outdoor event. They can be made ahead of time and warmed up on a grill in a covered foil dish, so they’re warmed through by the time the rest of the meal’s prepared.
What makes Trisha Yearwood’s easy-baked beans so unique?
Yearwood’s baked beans are unique because they combine sweet and savory flavors.
However, instead of just relying on canned beans to provide flavor to the dish, Yearwood uses subsequently several ingredients to make them stand out.
These include bacon, brown sugar, onion, molasses, and yellow mustard, which add hints of savory and sweet notes to the finished dish.
Best of all, the beans are a one-pan meal. Poured the beans into a dish and bake in the oven after mixing.
The keyword for this delicious side is ‘easy’
“The keyword here is easy. There’s nothing hard about it,” Yearwood said in a video shared on the Food Network website.
The recipe is part of a group of meals Yearwood prepared with former NFL star Kurt Warner and his wife, Brenda, in an episode titled “Feeding the Home Team.”
The couple presides over a family of 7, which makes them quite knowledgable in cooking for large groups.
The trio also made several racks of Barbecued Pork Ribs.
Dessert was Butterscotch Peanut Butter Bars.
How to make Trisha Yearwood’s easy baked beans
Making the Food Network star’s easy baked beans couldn’t be simpler.
Firstly, fry bacon in a large, deep frying pan. When cooked, remove the meat with a paper towel to drain.
When cooled, break into small pieces.
To the remaining bacon grease, add some finely diced onion, allowing it to saute in the fat in the pan. Add molasses to the mixture.
Then, open several cans of plain baked beans and pour them into the frying pan, followed by some brown sugar.
Several squirts of yellow mustard follow the sugar.
However, once the mixture is thoroughly combined, pour it into a casserole dish. The mixture can be set aside and baked when needed.
Subsequently, the beans should be bubbling and hot when done.
