Bacon plays a key role in the recipes from Trisha’s Kitchen: Easy Comfort Food for Friends & Family.
These include a recipe for Bacon Straws, twisted bacon strips brushed with maple syrup, and sprinkled with red pepper flakes and cheddar cheese.
But, “when I’m cooking, if there’s bacon going on a burger or something, anybody at my house walks by and they’re going to take a piece of bacon,” she said to the News-Herald.
However, Yearwood said that bacon is one of the biggest draws for any recipe.
Subsequently, “We all just want the bacon, like, it doesn’t have to be on anything,” she says.
“So this was that idea of making it its own thing, making it an appetizer and it’s crunchy and crispy. You just walk by and grab one — or 10.”
The country superstar said this recipe was inspired by a late-night treat
In her cookbook, Yearwood clarified that while on tour with her husband Garth Brooks, she would go out with her husband and the crew during rare nights off.

Yearwood subsequently explained that the staff had set up some snacks for the group, including these cheesy bacon straws, She said it was hard not to hear the entire plateful.
