Troian Bellisario Tried to Do Something Sneaky at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Wedding
Troian Bellisario is an award-winning actress best known for playing Spencer Hastings, one of the main characters on the hit show Pretty Little Liars. Aside from acting, Bellisario is also a producer, director, and screenwriter.
Being a popular television star has no doubt given Bellisario a lot of interesting experiences, including a chance to attend Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s royal wedding. Bellisario recently looked back on the once-in-a-lifetime event and shared that she did something very sneaky there.
How did Troian Bellisario know Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?
Bellisario was a guest star on the show Suits, which Meghan starred on for seven seasons. Bellisario is also married to actor Patrick J. Adams, who had a main role on the show alongside Meghan. Since Meghan is known to be close to her Suits costars, Adams and Bellisario both scored an invitation to the royal wedding.
Bellisario even joked about Meghan once. In an Instagram Live video with The Skimm in 2019, Bellisario was asked about what it was like to be married to another actor.
“A: There’s not jealousy. It’s not like he was like, ‘Who’s this Keegan Allen person?’” Bellisario said, referring to the actor who played her long-term love interest on Pretty Little Liars. “And I was like, ‘Who’s this Megan Markle person!?,’ she’ll never be anything!”
Bellisario said searching for a fascinator was ‘a nightmare’
A big part of any royal wedding is the outfits, especially the fascinators that are worn by women. Bellisario had never worn a fascinator before, so the actress admitted searching for the right one for Meghan and Harry’s wedding was more stressful than she thought.
“You could get one that is an absolute piece of art, but then are you being too vain and trying to call too much attention to yourself?” She told Australian news outlet Stellar. “Or if you get a fascinator that’s very small, are you not going for tradition.”
Bellisario added, “I’d never needed a fascinator in my life, and here I was trying to walk this tightrope of ‘don’t go too big, don’t go too small’. It was a nightmare.”
Fortunately, Bellisario had the help of an Australian stylist who managed to find her a great headpiece to complement her outfit.
What sneaky thing did Bellisario do at the royal wedding?
Aside from the fascinator problem, Bellisario was also stressed about something else—her pregnancy. At the time, Bellisario had been pregnant for a few months already, but the public was not aware of it. As such, she told Stella she had “anxiety” about trying to keep her pregnancy a secret.
“I was trying to conceal the fact that I was five months pregnant,” Bellisario said. “I was absolutely positive that it was going to be revealed.”
Fortunately for Bellisario, it did not seem like anyone caught wind of her pregnancy at the royal wedding. The couple’s happy news was reported a few months later by E! News, and Bellisario gave birth to their daughter, Aurora, in October 2018.
