’90 Day Fiancé’: Julia Says She’ll Go Home If Brandon Doesn’t Confront His Mom
Julia Trubkina and Brandon Gibbs are not thrilled with their new living arrangements. Brandon’s parents, Ron and Betty, told the 90 Day Fiancé couple that they would have to sleep in separate rooms. But infuriated with the idea, Julia told Brandon she’d go back to Russia if he didn’t confront his mom and make things right.
The ’90 Day Fiancé’ stars met on a video call
On the season 8 premiere of 90 Day Fiancé, Brandon revealed that he is a 27-year-old pest control technician from Dinwiddie County, Virginia, who lives on a farm with his parents. As Ron and Betty’s only child together, he’s very close to them.
“My dad is one of my best friends,” he said in a confessional. “My mom can be a little controlling, always trying to tell me what to do.”
Through a friend, Brandon met Julia, a 26-year-old night club dancer from Russia. The two were introduced over video chat. And after a few months of talking, the two met up in Iceland.
When Julia’s request for a visit visa was denied, Brandon proposed to her and applied for a K-1 visa.
They have to live in Brandon’s parents’ house
After spending much of his savings on his trips to meet Julia and her visa application, Brandon needs to live with his parents to save money. But being old fashioned, Ron and Betty said that unless Julia and Brandon are married, they need to sleep in separate rooms while living under their roof.
But another reason Betty hinted she wanted Julia and Brandon to sleep apart is that she doesn’t want them to get pregnant. She’s skeptical of Julia’s intentions and has already suggested she go on birth control.
However, Brandon may not have clearly explained the situation to Julia. Before she arrived, he said that he tried to tell her about his finances and the resulting living arrangements, but he isn’t sure she fully grasped it.
“When I first met Julia, I explained to her, I’m not rich or anything, and I couldn’t move out of my parents’ house yet,” Brandon told 90 Day Fiancé producers. “So when Julia arrives, we’ll be living with my parents on the farm, and we’ll have 90 days to get married.”
On ’90 Day Fiancé,’Julia tells Brandon to talk to his mom, or she’ll go back to Russia
Brandon and his parents drove to Washington D.C. to pick Julia up from the airport. The family then rented rooms at a nearby hotel and planned to show Julia around the city before heading home.
But Julia was not thrilled to find out that she’d be sleeping in a separate room from Brandon when she did get to the family farm. She told him to talk to his mom and figure things out, and if not, she would go back to Russia.
“I don’t want to sleep in another room without you [for] 90 days,” Julia said. “But you need [to] talk. You know what [will] happen if you not. I’ll go home.”
Brandon tried talking to Betty about the sleeping arrangement again, but she didn’t budge. Fans will get to see how things panned out on the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé when Julia moves into her new home on the farm.
