Does Kim Kardashian Keep in Touch With Robert Kardashian’s Family?
Kim Kardashian leads a hectic life. She makes regular appearances on the family’s insanely successful show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She’s the mother of the year to four beautiful children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. She’s a doting wife to rapper extraordinaire Kanye West. Recently she started tackling the journey to become a lawyer and to top things off she has another baby on the way! With a plate as full as hers, does Kim have the time to keep up with her father’s family?
What ethnicity is Kim Kardashian?
Kim actually has a rather intriguing ancestry at her back. When it comes to Kris Jenner, many thought she had Middle Eastern blood. That was found to be false, but her actual background is no less impressive. The matriarch has a funky cocktail that contributes to her Western European descent. The countries present include Denmark, England, Germany, Ireland, and even Scotland!
The patriarch of the family, Robert, had a heritage which is much less common. During the 18th century, Robert’s ancestors resided in Karakale, Armenia. His great-grandfather only came to America after heeding a warning he was given by an Armenian prophet.
Think about that: If Kim’s ancestor’s hadn’t been so receptive to the prophet’s words, the family lineage may very well have been wiped out. No Kardashian-Jenner clan. No Keeping Up With the Kardashians. No wildly successful Kylie Cosmetics. An entire phenomenon wouldn’t even exist!
Kim Kardashian connected with her roots in 2015
Back in 2015, Kim finally made the journey to visit her father’s ancestral home and she wasn’t alone. Her sister Khloe, cousins Kara and Kourtni, husband, and daughter North West went along for the ride. They took to social media to share some of their amazing adventure with family and fans.
While visiting, Kim reflected on her interactions with her Armenian grandparents. One of her first tweets, when she landed in the country, was all about exploration and chowing down on some traditional food. That’s not surprising considering she spoke so highly of her grandmother and her skills in the kitchen almost a decade prior.
“She was your typical Armenian grandmother: always cooking the best Armenian meals, our favorite which was this Armenian breakfast called ‘beeshe!'”
Kim has never been shy about her Armenian roots and has made it a point to bring it up during the anniversary of the Armenian genocide every year. Although the reality star lives a very different life here in America, it’s clear she has an inspiring bond to the country her ancestors hail from. Oh, and that love isn’t one sided either. When Kim got the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister, he basically gave her a pat on the back.
Does Kim Kardashian keep in touch with Robert Kardashian’s family?
Despite having a secure connection to her history, it looks like the beauty mogul doesn’t have the opportunity to spend much time with her father’s family. Helen Kardashian, her grandmother, and Arthur Kardashian, her grandfather, have both passed away.
Helen, Robert’s mother, was born on July 15, 1917, and passed away peacefully at Ararat Nursing Home on May 22, 2008. Arthur, Robert’s father, was born the same year as his wife but didn’t pass away until December 9, 2012, at the age of 95.
Both Kardashians lived terrific lives with their beautiful children and grandchildren. After all, Arthur did make an appearance in one of the Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s episode featuring her wedding!
Sadly Kim doesn’t have the opportunity to pow-wow with her paternal grandparents anymore. Robert does; however, have two older siblings: Barbara Freeman and Tom Kardashian. Neither seems to pop up much, so their relationship with Kim and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan is pretty much unknown.
