‘Full House:’ Here’s a List of Every Cartoon Character Joey Gladstone Impersonates
Outside of Full House, Dave Coulier impersonated celebrities like Robin Williams and Richard Pryor. Even for the series, though, this actor would do different voices to make the characters on the show laugh.
Here are most of the cartoon characters that Joey Gladstone impersonated on the original sitcom and the spinoff show, Fuller House.
Daffy Duck
Sometimes he did this voice just to spit on Jesse. Other times, he did it to make Michelle Tanner and the other girls laugh. Although he had a giant Bugs Bunny toy in his room, Daffy Duck was one of his favorite characters to impersonate. He even took Stephanie to the Daffy Duck film festival once!
Tasmanian Devil
He loved the Tasmanian Devil and the Road Runner. Joey Gladstone sometimes did his Tasmanian Devil voice while trying to ask women out. In the “Come Fly With Me” episode, that quickly backfired when he called the wrong woman.
Bullwinkle J. Moose
If the girls were ever upset, this was his go-to voice. When Stephanie and DJ asked for Danny, Joey, and Jesse to read them a bedtime story, this was the voice he turned to. When Michelle was first starting out school, he encouraged her to use this voice to meet other kids.
Popeye the Sailor
As one of his best-known impersonations, Joey often did his Popeye for the other members of the Tanner family. He even had his own Popeye doll in his room. Joey and his then-girlfriend, Cheryl, dressed as Popeye and Olive Oyl one Halloween.
Scooby-Doo
Aside from his love for the Popeye cartoons, Joey Gladstone is also a huge fan of Scooby-Doo. In addition to watching that series, he did his best Scooby-Doo voice from time to time.
Joey also impersonates celebrities and other characters
Characters like Pepe LePew, Elmer Fudd, and Pee-wee Herman aside, Joey Gladstone would often impersonate celebrities, both in his comedy routine and just around the San Francisco home.
When DJ first introduced Steve as her boyfriend, Joey did his best Godfather voice. When the power went out prior to Stephanie’s first viewing of The Wizard of Oz, the comedian did his own adaptation of the classic film.
Sometimes Joey Gladstone would do his Kermit the Frog voice. At the same time, the actor behind the Full House character was voicing Muppets like Animal, Bean Bunny, Bunsen, Statler, Janice, Self, and Walorf in the original series, Muppet Babies.
When Michelle was a baby, Joey also did her voice for other members of the family. She couldn’t talk then, but it made the Tanners laugh anyway. However, those impressions ended once Michelle started talking.
Most episodes of Full House are available for streaming on Hulu. All five seasons of the Netflix original spinoff series, Fuller House, are available on the streaming platform, Netflix.
