The Tanner sisters are back and causing mischief as the She-Wolf pack on Netflix’s spinoff series, Fuller House. With three boys of her own and no partner for the first few episodes, some fans wondered why the oldest sister, DJ, appears as a single mother in this series.

Fans see DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy Gibbler as adults in ‘Fuller House’

The Tanner Sisters, (and the honorary Tanner sister, Kimmy Gibbler,) are all grown up now. Instead of worrying about high school and middle school drama, they’re faced with the challenge of adulthood. Yet, they still all live together in Danny’s house.

Stephanie has a career in music and later has a daughter of her own, named Dani. Kimmy Gibbler has a daughter named Ramona, who also lives with DJ in the Tanner house. DJ has three children of her own in this spinoff series.

After being the child on Full House, this character now has children on the Netflix series, Fuller House. Jackson Fuller, Max Fuller, and Tommy Fuller make the Full House home even more full.

These boys are about the same age difference as DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle were on the original sitcom. Her eldest son, Jackson, deals with the trials and tribulations of being a teenager, including dating and taking AP classes.

The middle child, Max, is super smart, sassy, and structured, even offering his fashion tips to other members of the family. Although his part is small, Tommy Fuller is DJ’s youngest son.

It’s with the help of her younger sister, Stephanie Tanner, and her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler, that DJ can be a full-time mom and a full-time veterinarian. She also has some help from her dad, Uncle Jesse, and even Joey, although he has his hands full with children of his own.

Why is DJ a single mom on this Netflix spinoff?

Thomas Daniel “Tommy” Fuller, Sr. was the husband of DJ Tanner, who is noticeably missing from the spinoff season. According to Fuller House Fandom, during the episode titled “Our Very First Show, Again,” viewers learn that he passed away in the line of duty.

DJ said that he loved being a firefighter and died doing what he loved, which was “saving lives.” Even though she briefly dated another boy named Matt, she eventually finds her way back to her high school sweetheart, Steve.

The two get married during the final season of this spinoff, making Steve the latest addition to the Fuller family.

The original spinoff series featuring DJ Tanner, Stephanie Tanner, and Kimmy Gibbler, Fuller House, is available on Netflix. Most episodes of Full House are available for streaming on Hulu.
