Here’s What Streaming on Netflix in June 2021

Hollywood may have struggled amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but Netflix didn’t miss a beat. The streaming service had a slew of hits in 2020, including Bridgerton, Tiger King, and The Queen’s Gambit.

The world is slowly beginning to return to normal, and people are heading to the movie theaters to see action movies and romances on the big screen. However, Netflix won’t have any qualms about competing with the box office.

From a slew of new movies to some iconic throwbacks and a beloved reality series, Netflix has a lot coming in June 2021.

Here’s what to stream on Netflix in June 2021

As usual, Netflix is making sure that there is something for all fans to dig into on the streaming services. The selection for June is particularly robust and diverse.

‘Awake’

When a catastrophic global event eliminates humanity’s ability to sleep, Jill (Gina Rodriguez), a former soldier discovers that her daughter is the only one who is still able to drift away to dreamland. As scientists work to find the cure for this global insomnia, Jill must decide if she should protect her child or save the world. Awake will debut on June 9.

‘Love Jones’

The 1997 Chicago-set film was director Ted Witcher’s directorial debut Many films since then including The Photograph have emulated it. Starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate, Love Jones follows Nina Mosley and Darius Lovehall, a pair of causal lovers who realize they might have a much more serious connection than they want to admit. From the soundtrack to the setting, it’s the perfect ’90s love story. Love Jones will begin streaming on June 1.

‘Fatherhood’

Kevin Hart stars in the forthcoming dramedy, Fatherhood as Matthew, a recently widowed father who struggles with raising his young daughter on his own. The film is based on a memoir by Matthew Logelin. Fatherhood will debut on June 18.

‘Lupin: Part 2’

Omar Sy returns to his role as Arsène Lupin, in the retelling of the world-famous gentleman thief and con artist. The last time we saw Lupin, his scheming had caught up with him in a big way. Lupin: Part 2 will begin streaming on June 11.

‘Too Hot Too Handle’ Season 2

The much buzzed about reality series returns to Netflix with a whole new crop of sexy singles who frolick on an island, trying not to break a $100,000 celibacy challenge. Too Hot Too Handle will return June 23.
