‘RHOA’: Will NeNe Leakes Still Be Invited to Cynthia Bailey’s Wedding After Leaving the Show?
A lot of drama has been going on in the world of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the show isn’t even airing right now. NeNe Leakes has recently announced that she will not be returning to the show but does that mean that she is done with all of her former costars as well? Will she still be invited to Cynthia Bailey’s wedding?
Are Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes friends?
There was a time when Leakes and Bailey were best friends, they even had a contract to prove it. But after seasons of arguing with one another and throwing shade, the two are more like aquaintances than anything else.
“We are in a way better place than we were last time you guys saw us at the reunion, that’s for sure,” Bailey recently told HollywoodLife. “First of all, I don’t want to speak for her. I wouldn’t say that we’re friends. We’re definitely not like we used to be, but I think we’re in a good place. I think we’re in a cordial, respectful place. If I see her, if I walk out of this studio now and I see her, I will absolutely run up to her and say hello. — Maybe not run, but I would say hi. I would speak if I saw her, and I’m good.”
Though she and Leakes aren’t on the best of terms, Bailey has said that she will always have love for her former bestie.
“I think friendships are friendships, and real friendships, whatever point they are or whatever happens in the friendship, as long as I didn’t sleep with her husband or something crazy, I think the love doesn’t go away,” she said. “The friendship changes, but you still wish the person well. — At least I do.”
Will NeNe Leakes attend the wedding?
Bailey is getting married to her fiance Mike Hill on Oct. 10. Previously, she said that she would extend an invite to everyone on the show, but does the invitation still stand now that Leakes is no longer a cast member?
Apparently, it does.
“Honestly, with everything going on as far as her leaving the show, I wasn’t sure how comfortable she’d be attending the wedding knowing she has issues [with Bravo],” Cynthia told Page Six. “You just never know what someone is going through, but she’s still more than welcome to come.”
NeNe Leakes leaving ‘RHOA’
After a long and drawn-out contract negotiation, Leakes decided to part ways with RHOA. She announced her departure in a YouTube video.
“I have made the very hard and difficult decision to not be a part of Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13,” she said. “It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard.
“You could’ve never told me that I would star on this little show and it’d still be going strong 13 years later,” she continued. “I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened up doors for Black ensemble reality shows to step up and be a part of what we all now love so much, reality TV.”
Since then, Leakes has alleged on the Tamron Hall Show that she felt forced out of RHOA as season after season, she appeared in fewer episodes.
