TWICE’s ‘More & More’ Album Pre-Order First Look Has Fans Itching for a Dark Concept
TWICE’s next comeback album, More & More, is on the horizon, and fans can’t wait to see what the nine members — Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu — have in store. When Feel Special was released in September 2019, the South Korean band debuted a more mature sound. Now the group will once again deliver something they haven’t shown before. On May 7, TWICE unveiled the More & More pre-order details, which included a first-look teaser of the new album cover. And basically, ONCEs are predicting a dark concept for the June 2020 release.
TWICE releases the pre-order details for the ‘More & More’ mini-album
On April 28, TWICE hosted a virtual press conference to promote Seize the Light, the group’s latest YouTube docuseries. Toward the end of the livestream, the nonet gave away a few spoilers for the forthcoming album. Jihyo revealed TWICE’s next comeback would be on June 1 at 6 p.m. KST. Then the members individually spelled out the title track — “More & More.”
As mentioned, TWICE released a teaser for the More & More pre-order on May 7. In a Twitter post, the band confirmed More & More will be the ninth mini-album. Pre-orders also begin on Monday, May 11.
The TWICE account shared what will be included in the More & More album package. Fans can choose between three different versions. Version A is black and red. Then version B is red and white. Finally, version C is white and gold. Every buyer will receive a photobook, CD (1 of 9), postcard, coaster card (1 of 9), and photocards (5 of 100).
Meanwhile, individuals who purchase the first edition of the album will receive “the most card.” Pre-orders will also receive another photocard set, which will include 10 cards.
TWICE fans react to the ‘More & More’ album pre-order first look
Following the release of TWICE’s More & More album teaser, fans expressed their excitement on social media.
“YES TAKE MY MONEY,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“TWICE ‘MORE & MORE’ album cover looks amazing,” another fan tweeted. “Different flower on each version.”
Meanwhile, some ONCEs theorized what the flowers symbolize on the More & More album cover. And many seem to believe the new concept has something to do with death and rebirth.
“More & More version A features a red spider lily on it. It’s also called the flower of the afterlife, usually associated with death & resurrection,” a fan wrote on Twitter.
“The white looking petals signifies the rebirth of twice bcs they’re back stronger and healthier together!!!” another fan wrote. “IM CALLING IT FLOWER CONCEPT BUT WHITE ROSES/LILLIES.”
But for the most part, fans think TWICE’s latest album covers hints the group may dabble in a dark concept.
“Twice dark concept is here,” a fan tweeted.
“Twice are queens of duality. They can go dark and bright at the same time. They are too good at that,” another ONCE wrote on Twitter.
TWICE’s Nayeon and Momo tease the ‘More & More’ album concept
Whatever happens when TWICE releases More & More, Nayeon and Momo were kind enough to share a few spoilers about the upcoming album. In a VLIVE broadcast from May 5, the members ate some food while answering fan questions. Then a ONCE asked whether they like “Feel Special” or “More & More” better.
Momo said she couldn’t choose. Then Nayeon said she preferred the previous single. However, she still likes the upcoming track. “I like ‘Feel Special.’ It’s not that the song itself is great,” Nayeon said. “I love the feels it gives me. I also like ‘More & More.’”
She continued, “It’s new. It’s nothing like we’ve done before. It’s the first time we did something like that. But it’s more difficult than ‘Feel Special.’”
Later, a fan asked whether “More & More” is meant to be uplifting. But the two members weren’t 100 percent on how to answer.
“I’m not sure,” Momo said. Meanwhile, Nayeon chuckled and asked how far they could spoil the new track. “I don’t know if it’s a bright song or not. But the producer told us to sing in a cute way,” Nayeon said. “It’s not a bright song, but we made it into a bright song.”
Momo added, “It has a different vibe depending on the person.”
It seems TWICE’s next comeback will have some layers. But for now, fans will just have to wait and see what happens when More & More is released in June. Until then, ONCEs will surely be coming up with theories about the band’s new concept. But hey, according to Nayeon, that’s the fun part.
