After his loss, Vanya takes care of Luther. She leaves after learning that Five wasn’t honest with her, and she caused the 2019 apocalypse. Vanya goes back to Sissy’s home and tells her about the Swedish assassins. Sissy vows to protect her, saying they should get out of town. Harlan hears this and runs away.

Vanya chases him and uses her power to make all of the water in the lake rise so she can find him at the bottom. She gives him CPR and seemingly transfers power to him. That night, Vanya comforts Sissy. Vanya says she should leave, but Sissy confesses how much she means to her, and they kiss.

Luther and Allison reconnect

Allison stays up all night trying to find Ray, only discover the next day that he’s OK, just avoiding her. He thinks she’s working with the cops against him, and she doesn’t tell him the truth. Meanwhile, Jack Ruby fires Luther for throwing the fight. He drowns his sorrows in food at a BBQ joint, which is where Allison finds him.

Both lie and say that they’re doing great while filling one another in on their siblings and the impending doomsday.  Later, Luther gets kicked out of his apartment and goes to Elliott’s to find Five. He and Elliott do nitrous together, and Luther tells Elliot about the pending apocalypse.

Klaus relapses

After advising Allison, about Ray, Klaus finds Dave at the diner. He tries to convince him not to enlist, revealing everything he knows about him from their time in Vietnam. His Uncle Brian calls Klaus “a queer” and yells at Dave to punch Klaus, which he does.

Klaus falls off the wagon, getting drunk in a liquor store. Ben tries to convince him not to throw away three years of sobriety. He goes back to the mansion to find his disciples are there. Klaus then shows up at Allison’s wasted and passes out on her couch.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 2 Episode 2 Recap: ‘Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls’ — Or Fathers

We learn the Handler and an unseen assassin killed Lila’s parents in 1993. The Handler finds her hiding in a vent and raises her, training her to become an assassin. Back in 1963, Lila learns that the Handler wants her to protect Five. Lila tells her about the Swedes and discovers they’re with the Commission.

Five shows Lila and Diego the invite to the gala at the Mexican Consulate. Elliott hears the name Hoyt Hillenkoetter, telling them about the Majestic 12, who he calls “shadow government.” They’ve only identified 11 members, and assume Reginald is 12. Five, Diego, and Lila go with a plan to “infiltrate, identify, and extract” Reginald, but Five doesn’t trust Lila.

Mom and Dad Hargreeves

Inside, Diego confronts Lila about disappearing after they slept together. She makes up a lie as they dance. He sees his mom, Grace, who “died” in season 1 — only this is the real woman his robot mother was modeled after. Meanwhile, Five listens in on the Magic 12 meeting, learning that they plan to kill Kennedy because of his curiosity surrounding alien activity.

Reginald, who calls the plan “ill-timed,” hears his son in the closet. Five teleports out to the hallway, where one of the Swedish assassins attacks him. Diego arrives and starts fighting the others. Lila saves Five, following the Handler’s orders. She leaves Diego to fight off his attackers. As his father leaves the party, Five yells out to him, speaking in Ancient Greek.
